Wow I see some using ElyQ Reg. Is this instead of a BEC? I had no idea you could do that?!

Would anyone running on Futaba post some pictures of their electronics placement? I'm struggling to decide where to mount my Rx. I have the Beast on the front gyro tray and all the cables are very nicely routed and hidden; I'm just not sure where to put the Rx aerials.

I'm using a Duralite regulator with a 2s LiPo on mine. I already had a few of them and plenty of 2 cell LiPos. I kinda like the idea of having the RX power totally separate from the motor power but it does add a little weight.

Yeah thanks to a generous member on here, I'm going the 6.6v LiFe route so no need for anything

That's what I'm doing on the Hirobo SDX. I have an AR7100RX with a deans plug and I'm using Spektrum H6040 servos on the swash, so it's a very simple and clean setup. The only downside about LiFe is you cannot accurately measure the remaining charge left in the pack like you can with a LiPo, so it means doing some test flights and see how much you put back to figure out roughly how many flights you can get and then always make sure you start with a fully charged pack. I haven't really got into a routine with mine because when I maidened the SDX it had a nitro engine that I realised needed new bearings and then I decided to convert the SDX to electric, so my only LiFe setup so far has only done a couple flights in total as yet.

A bit after the question, but just seen the thread. I managed to fit 4600mah Align packs and I believe it is possible to squeeze in some 5000mah packs too. I'm told that you want to get a balance between mah and weight and than aroufn 400mah is ideal, but I guess this is a personal choice. She flew lovely on 4600mah packs, that much I do know.
