Outrage 550 parts availability

Yeh mine to, i have done 3 emergancy autos already in five flights and even with maniac blades on is good, come on though radix, bring out some 550's, maniacs to stiff for my liking

My usual preference is for Maniac blades. I thought I had a pair around when I bought the 550 but can only find one, I guess it's a sole survivor After last week I now have a single Maniac 703 blade as well but matching it with the 553 blade could be a little awkward

...That's a surprise, I'm using quite heavy 5000 6S packs with some old MS Composit 550 blades and auto's are fine.

well I think it depends on what you expect. Don't take my statement as criticism on the heli, and mine is maybe a bit heavier than usual :
LiPo 910 g (an Outrage pack with your specs is 745 g).
Motor 326 g (the scorpion 4020 is 284 g)
Rx LiPo 110 g. I could use the BEC, but I'd rather have a chance to get it down in case of ESC meltdown.
I auto it after every flight, and of course it works just fine. But there are worlds between the 550 and the T-Rex 600 with 620 blades.
In the end it all comes down to skills and practise.

repeated tictocs are OK, if a bit forced - I put a heat sink onto the ESC, now it can handle them.
But where it shines are big moves like cubans or cobra rolls. It flies like an arrow.
And that's just fine with me - here down by the cost it's often very windý.

This may also explain, why the flight times are a bit shorter than expected.

Might be a bit difficilt mate
If i can get hold of some different 550mm blades to try i might sell these at some time so will let you know, was going to give those cheep 30 quid ones from blink a try b ut they sold them quick, so waiting for them to come back in stock

No criticism taken I cut my teeth autoing a Shuttle ZXX and a regular part piece is autoing my Beam E4. I'd say the 550 is about average for a 550/30 size heli. it's reasonably easy to auto but you only get one shot and not much hang time. I must get round to weighing mine, I'm also using a seperate receiver lipo pack and my flight lipos are around 850g.

use to do some monster autos on my Rave until i got one wrong, just a heavy landing and a new undercarriage so nothing major.
Haven't had time to test the 550's proper auto capability yet as i still am playing with the set up, have as i said had a couple of emergancy ones but they don't count

With the 700 on Maniac blades you can auto down, decide you don't like the spot, move to another spot, have a quick drink, then land After years of flying 30's then 50's autoing 90's is like a walk in the park, soooo much hang time

PS, does anyone in the UK stock the moulded plastic main gears yet as I can only find the machined delrin gears, MicroHeli in the US have the plastic gears in stock which are supposed to be pretty good.

PPS, Why is the Outrage froum on R*nryder so slow moving when the Helifreaks forum gets plenty of posts.
