I have a Fusion 50 which I've now decided to convert to a 6S setup (ease of single pack flights etc). I've just purchased a Scorpion 4025-1100KV motor for it which appears to be drop-in replacement. Now I need to order some cheap Turnigy 6S 5000mAH packs, an ESC and possibly a BEC.
I have a few questions for anyone running this/ similar setup.
Given that the rating on the Scorpion has Max Continuous Current = 100 Amps and Peak Current = 130 Amps (5 seconds)
I'm considering one of these 3 ESCs -
Hobbyking YEP 120A HV (OPTO)
Continuous 120A, burst 140A for 10 seconds
Hobbyking YEP 100A (2~6S)
Continuous 100A, burst 120A for 10 seconds
Hobbywing Platinum 100A ESC Speed controller
Continuous 100A, burst 150A
Basically I'd rather use an internal BEC if I can but, if the opto is the best choice then, what size BEC is wise? I'm running 3 x JR DS8717 on cyclic and a BL 9180 Outrage TORQ on the tail + Mini V-Bar with 2 sats.
Which are the best budget 5000mAH packs regarding fitting them in?
Finally, I'm currently learning 3D so I need decent power (around 2300HS I think), will a 13T be enough?
cheers Craig
