  • Landing skids bending

My landing skids are starting to bend especially the rear legs. My tail is now touching the ground. Ive tried to bend them back but it only works for a while. Are there any stronger versions out there or could I use other makes? Thanks.

Could this have something to do with your landing technique???

No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery.

Miniature Aircraft (of Xcell fame) used to produce "Tuf-Struts" in a variety of sizes. They were claimed to be unbreakable, and certainly I never managed to bust them!

I don't know if they are still available, but Dave Wilshere (Motors & Rotors) should be able to advise!

Stretch an elastic band between the skids near the back and it will stop the model squating on it's tail. Try to store the model with the weight not taken on the skids.

I'm sure a set of 500 skids could be made to fit. I had a set of Protos skids on my Atom, 'cos the standard ones are like glass (in the winter at least), so I know where your coming from. They are very bendy! The elastic band idea sounds a good one.

Better still, get a big industrial cable tie, no bounce in that like an elastic, plus it won't perish in the sun!
