Phone up Midlands or Skyline or Fastlads etc. and explain the issue and see what their solution is. If you can get some 600mmOriginally posted by wadders View Postno ideas?????
blades with 5mm holes you won't have to fiddle with any sleeves and all should be right with the world :-) I'm sure there
are other 600mm carbons (besides the Mavrikks I have already mentioned) that have a sleeve that is removable to allow
a 5mm bolt.Kasama, Minicopter, Henseleit, JR, Shape, Beam

Easiest way out ?
The most obvious answer would be to get a set of blades with the same size holes as the head grips, and to use the correct type of bolts for the job as well, your spare parts list will help there. The next obvious route is as Bladestriker suggested, which is to open out the blade pivot collet with a 4.5mm drill first from each side, this halves any misalignment error if you're not 100% centrally lined up, then a 5mm one, again from each side, then a very light touch with a 6mm drill held in your fingers to take any sharp edbes off. It's easy to be out by a very small amount without precision equipment, but going at it carefully will give you a perfect fit.
Failing that, you could fit tubular shims into the head, which would have to be made from brass tube with an OD of 5mm and an ID of 4 mm and cut 4 of these to the thickness of the grips.
I'd go fer drilling mesel' Wadders, job done in 20 minutes , simples. Regards and good luck with it. Cagey.
Trex 450 SEV2.
Trex 450 SEV2, hack, freeby, but getting expensive. Binned the bu**er !
Trex 550 V2. Adrenalin ( brown kind )

mCPX, better than a Phoenix anyday.
Several planks, gathering dust.
Brains and thumbs work okay, but not at the same time.

With regards to the bolts, is their a specific type for the head! Why would the others bend?

Some bolts might as well be made of cheese, they're too soft for blade grips. Some stainless steel ones are too hard, brittle enough to fracture quite easily. Align blade bolts are pretty good, just the right grade of high carbon content to make them tough. Though I'd prefer to find some with a non threaded portion for their grip range. Maybe some one else has the answer here ?Originally posted by wadders View PostGood info, thanks!
