I just stripped it down bit by bit, found the manual for the engine online and used that as a guide. I used a brass wire brush on the crank case with a bit of meths to get the burnt on fuel off. I have oiled the bearings. There was no rust at all in the engine even the glow plug still works.

Its been a while but I have just about all of the bits I need to finish off the airframe, just missing the tail fin now. All been well I will get to do some work in it over the next few weeks and get an engine test run done. Then I need to get my hands on the electrics........

I have managed to get a little more done to the heli today. The new tail drive is now fitted and the engine is back in. Just need to fit a servo for the engine for a quick test fire. Next bit to do is to fully strip the rotor head down, replace the damaged parts and rebuild........good fun this

I will put some pics up later when I have more time.

Managed to get the engine running today. Alot of tuning to do, but that will come later. Have put some low end servos in for now, just to test things. Need to get a tail servo some time and a gyro. Next job now rebuild the head

Was having a trip down memory lane with my dad about his concept 30. I remember it as a kid, where it would be on the front room table. And I always wanted to have a go. It looked so cool back then. Never saw his fly though. He had so many issues with his. He would take us to the field, but he could never get it started.lol. Shame I never saw it fly.

                    Here we are at last.

Engine sorted with clutch and fan refitted. Also a new starting cone

Fitted back in to the cooling duct

Back in the frame after a test run. The old exhaust has cleaned up not too bad. Think I am going strip whats left of the black off when I can. Most of the paint has already come off anyway.

This is the new (ish) tail gear box fitted and fin.

                    Getting there very slowly

Just been doing the rotor head and found the flybar is all bent. One of the few parts I do not have kicking around, oh well better get looking on the net

is the flybar not compatible with anything else current at the mo? from align's 600n maybe or raptor?
i was thinking this about the main blades... do you think the current carbon fiber blades will fit?

I have some Raptor flybars kicking around will give them a try, thats a good idea. Not really thought about the main blades yet but from what I can tell modern blades should fit. Will take one off one of the Raptors and see if it fits.

on the main blade you may find they are 515's and the rappy is 550's
but check on the heli that the main and tail blades won't contact in use

as the flybar is bent (try the raptor/shuttle/sceadu/trex flybars)
i would look very close at the mainshaft and feathering spindle
if these are bent they will be harder to replace than the flybar

                            a bunch of bls servo's and a 701 gyro

The main shaft was bent and has been replaced. The feathering spindles all seem ok Parts are getting harder and harder to find now. All adds to the fun. I wonder how many concepts are sat in people sheds and attics

Rotor head all back together now. Found a flybar from my old Trex 600N and it fits well. Managed to get a tail servo after a visit to Fastlads on Friday. Really just need a gyro now and that should be about it, ready for setup and test flight
