The thing with TDR is that for most people they feel it's unobtainable, through financial issues or waiting lists, lack of spares etc etc (I thought that way until very recently!) and with each being hand made it adds a certain element of exclusivity, as they're quite rare too in the grand scheme of things!

But looking into it. They are very much affordable, and with being an airframe only kit, it gives you time to build up your electronics nicely

    What's that email address again!?....

      I am with bolders.
If indeed He changed his mind on keeping it and is now selling, then he is entitled to ask however much he thinks he will get for it. What did you do last time you sold a car, sell it for less than market value? I doubt it.

If he bought it in order to sell on for a profit to queue jumpers then its a business decision and anyone of us is entitled to do business any legal way we like.
He put up the cash. He took on the risk that the market might change. Etc etc

No one gets upset at an online model shop making a hefty profit. Why shouldnt an individual.

I'm going to have to take a different view on this, when there is a limited supply of something, be it a heli or a concert ticket, I having nothing but disdain for those who profiteer by buying up the limited supply purely to resell at a high margin to those who were trying to buy the same products in the first place.

I do not think that applies to this example, as it seems to be a genuine need to resell, but there is nothing good or laudable about using buying power to deny retail products to consumers only for the purpose of reselling them to those same people.

Trading in wholesale goods for retail is perfectly normal and good, acting in the retail market to control or limit availability to consumers is a bad thing though.

Your example of using ticket touts to make this seem distasteful is invalid in this case as the tdr IS available to anyone willing to wait. It isnt a sold out item such as a full concert.

I think most people would accept and be happy to pay extra to attend a concert 'tonight' instead of booking a cheaper ticket for a concert next month.

It is a pretty poor society where everybody conducts themselves as a business, trying to profiteer off one another. In fact it ceases to become a society at all.

IMO this guy has no class. I wonder, if this sort of person ever came accross someone stranded in the desert, how much would they charge for a drink of water?

You are a condescending tit. You assume I need education because I do not agree with you.

Look, I have nothing against entreperneurship when it actually adds something to society, you know, when someone actually creates something. What exactly is this guy adding? He is just leeching, in exactly the same way as ticket touts do. He isn't providing any service either, as Mark pointed out above, he just put himself in a queue so that he could sell it to someone further back in the queue (1 place further back than they would otherwise have been).

I say it is you that doesn't understand entreperneurship, which types are good, and which types aren't.

This is actually quite an interesting debate, it doesn't have to get rowdy and calling people ornithological names.

I run a business, I buy things from wholesalers/distributors/suppliers and sell the things to the public who walk into my shop, I pay income tax, VAT, business rates and council tax even though I renovated a once derelict eyesore in my town to make it a shop with a flat.(irrelevant but I like a whinge) There is a Lidl supermarket around the corner, sometimes they have offers on things similar to items I sell, the price they are charging is less than I can buy it for. Is it wrong for me to go into Lidls and buy all of the available stock to sell at a profit in my shop around the corner? I'm just using a different supplier. I'm paying tax and vat on the profit. I ask because I feel a little uncomfortable doing it because I'm depriving slower people than me for getting it at that price. However I will continue to do it because in business you either sink or swim, I have no backup plan if I sink.

It's interesting because there is obvious revulsion for fatcats, investment bankers, expense fiddling politicians etc but there also seems to be an anti anyone making money in business feeling going on too expressed by some rioters not so long ago, how much profit is fair, how much is abhorrent?

Yes please..... so what do you think then Paul, as a scandalous profiteering leech yourself? Am I a bad man for buying all the Lidl stock? Is Mr Henseleit on ebay naughty? TBH if I had a spare grand I'd have offered him that and pickup pay in cash, thats about what he will get after fees. I'd pay an extra hundred or so to get one tonight rather than 6 months time.
