Sweet :-) I'm still happy with my micros. Getting better on orientation and basic circuits. 450X still needs lots of use. My dream project is a green goblin 700. Need to find a place to fly first ;-) that's why I love the micros. My local park is perfect for them. But the 450x needs more space and no people around. As would the goblin 700.

You need to find a local club - I've progressed far quicker by flying with people who can advise / goad / take the mick ...

Sure! I agree, but the nearest club is about an hour away way too far IMO im not that much of an addict

Did you get chance to strip your motor down then Tom? Did you lose the C clip? Was this mod needed?
OK, so just taken the motor out. The washer is there, but there's no C-clip? With the washer removed, I can slide the can up quite easily.

Anyone got any ideas how bad this is? Can I still fly without the C-clip? Can I get a replacement easily? Do I need to/should I buy a new motor?

              Cr@p....

                450x motor problem?

                Hi Tom,
If you take the motor housing off and do the loctite mod with red loctite and leave it overnight, you may get away without replacing the circlip as the loctite will hold the shaft tight in the bearings.

Alternatively you could probably get a circlip if you can measure the groove it locates in, but that would be a bit tricky I would guess?

                Cheers

                Rob

I'm wondering if I might upgrade the motor anyway Been reading about the eFlite 450 (EFLM60450A) or the Scorpions (HK-2221-6/-8)

Any thoughts on a potential upgrade ?

I hear that the scorpion is a good upgrade with the castle ice lite 50 esc ( I think its edge line now)

                    Might do the same myself

I think either of the Scorpion motors would be a significant upgrade, no experience of them myself but I will upgrade to one when my eflite motor craps out. You can at least get spares for them easily! I'd go for scorpion over eflite from what I've read as they have a 2 year warranty too (excluding the bearings which can be brought seperately for £3!)

I'm sure there's a few posts on line comparing both motors.
