I hadn't noticed the "clone" statement! Totally agree, the Blade 450's are really good helis - especially the 450X.

        Thanks for the reply's all.

I'd like to go flybarless, so am i right in saying that the B450x shares most of it's bit and bobs with my 4503D?

It's gonna be about a month before anything happens i'd say, once we get everything sorted with the company.

It's mostly the same heli, differences are :
          Better motor
          Shorter main shaft
Flybarless head (obviously) - including different blade grips and blades. Spindle is the only common component in the head I think.
          AR7200BX replaces Gyro

Other than that - all parts are common I think.

No matter what you do, don't buy a flybar heli. At this size (500 and less) FBL makes huge difference, especially in shitty British weather when it's almost always windy. Even if you decide to get a bigger machine, don't make a mistake buying flybar machine beacuse it's cheap - it's cheap for a reason, flybars are obsolete and people just want to get rid of them. FBL will make your flying much more enjoyable and your learning easier.

Flybarless on the 450 or step up to a 500 or bigger is the way to go. I find my 500 flies so much better than my 450, and although I fly the 450 much more, it's always a pleasant experience after I've exhausted all my packs for the 450.

I flew my only remaining fly-barred heli (a 450) last week after a servo went on my flybarless 450, and while it wasn't too bad, it was a world apart from what I'd been used to. Lack of power, lack of stability (though it was better than I expected) and slow roll and flip rates lead me to land it with a minute left on the timer.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

+1 on this, I've just sold my 450 3D, was a right pain in the arris! Got myself a 300X (cause I can hide it from the wife but I wanted a 450X) and its like night and day difference with the AR7200BX flybarless unit.

My advice? Get a 450X if you want something cheaper with a battery and charger included that comes ready built, but if you want better quality, the Align 450 DFC will be much better, but also more expensive. Trex 500 flybarless should also be considered if you can afford it.
