What I do is once a servo has been replaced, I power up the heli without connecting the servo horn, this way the the heli for all it's concerned has set the servos to there correct start up position.

Then place the horn on the servo shaft as best you can by judging the swash plate level as guidance, and usually the horn arm is level "+".

Once completed usually only a little sub trim is needed to correct tiny differences, however if your swapping over different makes of servos you can't use the same horn & screw, this method is only for like for like servos.

The 65MG's will add serious strength and the 401 with a digital servo will add very precise control.

I use the Futuba S3153 on my 450, and it works a treat, as it does with two other flyer's I know.

      Thanks Cambs,

Excellent advice. I've swapped like for like at the moment 'cos i've only stripped the one servo.

      Many thanks again.

You can get replacement gear sets for the servo at around £1.99 each.

The shop didn't have any gear sets in so i just bought a new servo. I can always sort the stripped one and then i've got a spare for when i drop it next time!!!

          Thanks anyway.

I replaced all mine with hs65mg's as after changing the gears on one servo after 1 accident, i realised that it's a real ball ache job.
I've put my blade into the ground 6 times now, that would have been 1 to 3 servo rebuilds x6!!
With the time it would have taken me to do those rebuilds spent at work, i have earned the money to buy the hs65's a few times over.
Plus it's one less thing broken when your picking it up in bits again

Mine just stripped, but to be fair to Horizon I have the feeling mine's a refurb.
