  • My 300x story

    hi everyone
my first big to me heli,im still a CP learner but i wanted to treat myself to something i could see and work on better...first newbie mistake, i spooled the 300 in my small living room, jeez the noise my hands started slipping off the dx with sweat in 5 seconds flat, keep calm i said to myself and concentrate..so much for talking to myself, it hit my wicker basket now let me fast forward you to my LHS were i needed blades, blade grips main shaft and main gear i had only been there a hour ago buying the dam thing..
have to look at the positives i guess, i can now rebuild a 300x well almost my first build had the tail doing a dance i had somehow twisted the belt so tail rotor was spinning the wrong way... i've also learnt to never to spool up in a bungalow (this can happen if you live alone) just gone outside for a test and all was well but i had a boom shake /tail wag, not much but enough to spoil poise in the air...had a look around the forums and giro gain seems to be one thing to try if all mechanical things were ok and my friends i have to say it works, lowered it to 70 and its now solid as a rock.this has been my 300x story
    Thanks for listening
    ted

the stock battery is good for 6:00 even at full rpm and some loops and turns.
I converted completely to 1600mAh LiPos and fly up to 7:30 without a problem and I never charged back more than 80%.

                      I use the SLS APL 1600 mAh 30C/60C. SLS APL 1600mAh 3S1P 11,1V 30C+/60C - Modellbau Akkus Stefansliposhop
those come with the wrong balancing plug and without the EC3 connector though.
Then there are the MyLipos. DER Tuningakku für den Blade 300 x - mylipo.de
those are a bit more pricy, but they were designed for the 300X and thus come with the right connectors out of the box. Another advantage is that MyLipo offers an English web-site, which might be more convenient for you if you want to order in Germany. The MyLipo shop is known for excellelent after sales service and high quality cells.

From my personal experience those two LiPos are the best ones currently available on the German market. HobbyKing might offer an alternative with a simmilar capacity and size. I have not looked yet.
