we're going off topic here, but that poll is ridiculous. 17% as a result in itself as a shows how totally flawed it is. If you read the thread, you'll see all the reasons listed why the only thing you can extrapolate from it is .... that ESC failures happen, regardless of manufacturer. No big news there.

If the poll had been "do you dislike castle" it might have been more revealing. People with better things to do than bash products would have stayed away and not voted (for the most part). People with an axe to grind would have been drawn towards the poll as a way of venting their opinion. Then the results would be clearly skewed.

And that, I'm afraid, is exactly what that poll is, just under a different title.

Graham - be careful about assuming higher price = better reliability. Here's a comment from the very "poll thread" that Ross linked ...

I had a yge 90hv fail on me on a different model. When it failed it kept the rpm at around 1000 and I basically had to let it run the battery to its death. Awesome. I saw a yge 160hv fail over the weekend and cause a logo 700 crash.

My point is that I don't think the grass is any greener with any option. They can all fail like any electronic device. Chances are you'll have no problem. But it can happen.

Didn't say they don't ever fail. Even kontroniks fail. It's the rate in which they fail. Besides I'd rather have to pick up a broken Heli than one that's been burnt beyond repair. That's usually what happens when CC go bad.

Finless when i was with stoner last weekend in Bude, he finally had enough of the crap toys and stood on his 130x and hit the nano with a cricket bat, i dont think you will be seeing them sh1t toys at Phoenix any more, but i'm sure your knowledge on Mikado logo's will come into play.
