Should i be worried with this?

Just wondered if anybody has experience of the fets being this worn by the tail gear? should i be worried or is this just general wear and tear?
will it cause a failure? Let me know what you think guys. ive pointed to the wear in the pics tbh im not even sure what a fet is

Worry.....

Thats called an interfearance fit and shouldnt happen... it will break it in the end either by making a hole in the fet or by pinging it off the pcb

Mines never hit,metal or original.

My servo was covered in dust,the dust was the original gear dust.

Clean the dust off and keep an eye out for more in next few flights.

If its flying ok then forget about it

it has worn curves into the black fet things. thats what im worried about

Check metal gear clearence with paper,it could of been from the original gear.im sure the gap is bigger with metal gear on mine.

If your worried about the fet then change the servo if you have a good gap......me,id just fly it.

Hi My metal 1 was to close I put it on a electric drill with a bit that is the same size as the main shaft and held a small file on it and that will help. If 1 of your bearing wears it will only get worse

good idea i will replace the servo and rub the gear edge down till its clear.

I've just got my 130x back from HH after the A gear wore through the FET making the servo lock up completely. They've returned the heli with the new servo not fully clipped in. I'll post some pics, but it looks like the placing of the servo is deliberate to ensure clearance between the gear and the servo. Mine has now got clear space (slightly less than 1mm) between the gear and the FET.

Anyway, yes, you should be worried. It's a known problem that was spotted on many of the early 130x. Many (including me) filed down the plastic A gears to ensure clearance. It was only after I got the metal gear (which I couldn't easily sand down) that mine failed.

Top right of servo doesn't appear to be properly clipped into frame, giving clearance to A gear.

They've definitely done something different. Prior to HH fixing it, the FET was burnt out (it stank!) completely and there was zero clearance.

Now, I can shove a piece of paper through, and the gap has clear air. Maybe they've padded out the mounts? Don't know truly without taking it apart. The thing I was trying to show in the photos is that now, the servo board doesn't appear to be at 90deg to the frame. It certainly looks like it's been mounted at a very slight angle.

Maybe that's how others are mounted - didn't check what it was like before I sent it back, so can't compare ...

I assume those pics are showing the same mounting of the servo as mine? No doubt you're right, like I say, I don't know how mine was before I sent it back except that the gear was rubbing (and had killed) the front servo. HH have changed something to give clearance - but not sure what now. FWIW, below is one of the early vids highlighting the issue.

Whatever the fix, @Trexmaniac - you do need to give it clearance before it burns out your servo.

mine was doing that. No need to remove the gear, I just got a piece of fine sandpaper held it on the gear with some pressure while turning the main blades. It didn't take long to reduce the diameter. Only a fraction was taken off but that was all that was needed now i dont get any dust on the board.
