yes ive entered all the newbie dx6i advised settings,i do feel its space tho as soon as it gets in its stride there a lampshade or wall in the way ...thanks for saying its a massive step i dont feel so bad now,i wonder what i would have been like with the 130x that was my choice but no stock in my shops..

It can be done mate, I learnt to hover on a double bed, now fly my msrx like a madman.
I tried to measure my head speed of my 300x and was paying too much attention to the heli tach app, lost control. Stripped main gear, lost control linkage, broken blade, stripped the ball link out of blade grip, biggest damage was my pride.
The msrx is great indoors, but outside, anything more the a mouses breath of wind and you'll be stomping around picking it up and finding another take off spot if it hasn't broke something.

With respect be careful with alloy upgrades at this stage. If your having lots of hard crashes the strengthened components only mean that the impact of the crash will result in something important breaking. The stock components in a sense have failure points to protect servos and 3in1 board and even the frame. Totally up to you though obviously. Suppose in a bad crash you are most likely going to have to replace something. But better to only replace 1 part that broke as its designed to in a crash, than the 3 or 4 that the alloy part would transfer the shock to. At least plastic has an element of give.... alloy on the other hand...

i hear yeah,what ive done is ordered 2 sets of the eflite parts and the shiny one will get fitted when i only crash once a day and not well im too embarrassed to say. lol

No need to be embarrassed mate. We have all been there. Thats why you will always get lots of sympathetic reply's and what makes this place great for new people in the hobby. Every knows your pain Just believe that you will get better and slog through the crashes. If you do 3 or 4 packs a day, within a week or 2 you will have a good deal of basic skills to really start to enjoy it. If it was easy, it wouldn't be as much fun and everyone would do it

Just try and keep it in one place.... you will subconsciously learn so much from that as your putting inputs in. Try not to move the rudder at all at this stage. Maybe even put more expo on the rudder so you don't put unwanted inputs in

Oh and the single most important piece of advise and also the most difficult to take heed of at this stage..... DON'T OVER CORRECT..!!!! Lots of tiny inputs are what you need. Really do your best not to panic and slam sticks around trying to regain control. Tiny movements and watch what happens and your brain eventually does it on auto.

I bought my first fixed-pitch, 4-channel heli as a completely newbie in April this year so I've only been flying 7 months. I've just finished building my Trex 500EFL Pro and took it for it's maiden flight last weekend. I bought my 130X the moment they came out (August) - so, yes, absolutely!

Thanks again fellas for all your help and encouragement, makes me smile that i started this thread asking about 3D i sure have a bigger respect for that skill now and its the old adage experts always make it look easy.
