Well, the Beam E4 build is going just great; in fact it’s been a real joy with no major hiccups so far. I though I might add two things I have found that might be useful to someone either building or about too.
I’m at the stage of installing the servos and found that the Hitec HS-5065MG servo used for the elevator will not seat properly behind the anti rotation plate. This is due to one Socket Head Bolt, 2x5mm which attaches the plate protruding out blocking a neat and square fit.
To seat the servo properly I removed the Socket Head Bolt, 2x5mm and replaced it with a same sized but flat headed screw and re lock tighted it….the servo now fits nice and snug!
The other one is the gap in the main blade grips to fit a 5.5 nut driver is only 7 mm. Typical, I have two 5.5 nut drivers but the outside diameter is too wide to fit inside to get to the nut itself.
Managed to source one from JE spares and after chatting with Josh, who measured two different makes, an HUDY driver was the slimiest just under 7mm.
Here’s the link if interested http://www.jespares.com/radio-controlled-models/helicopters/tools/drivers/nut-drivers/hudy-socket-driver-5.5mm.html
HUDY tools are expensive but well worth it if you’ve ever owned one…
Josh, also assured me if for any reason it didn’t fit, to send it back….cant get better service than that.
……Otherwise the build continues tonight and I hope this was of some help..
