Taking it real slow and being very methodical Wayne…….I’m in no hurry to rush flying in this weather, besides I’m really enjoying the build….
Main frame, head and tail built…….elevator servo in and RX positioned.
Another reason why I’ve taken my time is all the wires have been measured and positioned to the correct length to fit snug inside the main frame and covered in black cable wrap. I’m hoping the end result will almost show no wires.
Planning to fit the other cyclic servos tonight……
Must admit mate the build quality excels the Trex 500…this kit is solid with precise engineering.
Mines on the right looking from behind :-) I was going to put it up front but its long. Ive taken the leads through the Rx bay and connects on the left quite neatly.
What about the programer ?? looks like most people leave it off after programing, that might be a bit of a fanny on with my setup so im putting it on the top plate at the boom clamp with velcro. Gyro will go underneath.
Everythings a bit loose at the mo but i think it will work ok !!
cant wait to get it all together but am defo taking my time on this un.
I left the programming board off since it only adds weight to the heli.
I suppose you can leave it mounted until you have finished playing about with the programming. I would then take it off.
I mounted my ESC at the front and, yes it is long and does protrude somewhat.
Adrian.
Had a 14T in for some time but have recently changed to a 15T. I am now running a 90% flat line in ID1 instead of 100%. Seems to be a little better.
The 16T is OTT.
Eddie, loose the programmer.. I dont think there is much to do other than the initial setup - then it is redundant!
Interesting ESC on the right, that is the first one I have seen. I did have mine at teh front when I installed the Jazz, but the 55 didnt fit very well there. Might be the ideal location for the RX I suspose. Mine is under the main gear at the moment, but if I moved the RX up front, I could sit a new gyro under the main gear if it suited... hmmmmm

Eddie is loosing the programer, its me with it attached to the heli
So after the initial setup are you saying its rarely used ? I just thought it would be a fanny on if i had to connect and disconnect when i wanted to adjust parameters. If its not used after setup then I will leave it off.
As I read it it comes with a pre-installed setup. Should I just go with that for the first time so I have a datum to then program from ? I guess that would make sense.

Carl, must admit I'm not playing around with mine at all.....and leaving the pre installed set up to initially get me going......Adrian (Machasm) who has kindly offered assistance with the system set up, might tinker but I trust him....
I think I just set it in to heli mode, no break, soft start, govener and lipo protection.... off the top of my head. Not sure how to check it, but it flys at the moment, so no point in fixing it
