well started the build of my 700n dfc this evening, quite exciting being my first nitro plus i do really like the look of this model, page 1 problem 1,bloody both bolts for the dfc arms are bent, what a pita,no stock anywhere either,i see fast lads had some in stock but sold out,is this a common problem?could buy the arms just to get the two screws but that works out expensive for 2 m3x24 bolts, everything thrown back in the box and thrown under the table

is this a sign to stay electric

are people having trouble with these bolts or is it because this part will allways be damaged in a crash that they are sold out?

    cheers

Which bolts? the ones that go DFC arms to blade grips? I havent had any problems with these myself no. I shouldnt think theyd bend in crashes either?

Bit of a pain but theres plenty more you can do mate, you can fit those last if you want!!!

Yeah I can imagine mate! You can probably go to any old model shop and get some screws for it though?

Get it built and at least your only an hour away from a maiden (After fitting screws and FBL Controller setup)

yeah I know it is a pain!

I'm pretty sure to be honest that they are just regular 10.9 cheesium grade steel. If you want to upgrade get some 12.9 - they are harder material.

I actually really like it. I used to run a nitro RC car for fun in the park etc, so im not a complete stranger to nitro, however heli's are a lot different.

The heli actually flies great and I do really enjoy flying it. However I'm still not sure what im doing with the tuning, I dont know if I'm expecting too much power out of it or if its just still not tuned right - its all experience I suppose.

The clutch has been a pain in the bum, as have a few screws ive stripped when I have to keep removing the engine (have pulled it out about 8 times now)

Running the nitro is, relative to an electric, a pain in the ass. Im really beginnning to notice how much easier it is to actually work with my electric helis. You pick it up, chuck it in the car, plug it in, fly it and it works or it explodes in flight due to a mechanical failure.

A nitro though will work or wont work, or maybe itll half work. The engine might cut out in the middle of a flight, or it might skip a few beats or do something weird (Like reducing its RPM by half for about 30 seconds, which was weird)

Its def more work and a bit of a pain in that respect, however I am loving it for the extended flight times, the lack of limitation on number of flights (I could probably get 8 tanks worth of flying on one RX pack) the fact there is no need to storage charge anything or discharge unused packs, and also that I can just pick it up and go with about 5 minutes notice if Im having a quiet day working and go out and fly, I dont need to charge anything really!

please do not use normal bolts on there, ever. get the proper bolts from align and save future hassle. it is amazing i'm saying buy the align bolts over normal ones! the reason is as said above if wrong material they will snap. if too soft they will bend so there has to be a happy medium.

yes they will bend/break in a bump so get spares :-)

                      cheers

The bolts that go in the same place on my goblin are 12.9 steel. Align are 10.9. Neither of them have spontaneously combusted yet My goblin runs much higher headspeed too.

I wouldnt say just grab something out of the spares bin that'll work unless your exactly sure what it is, but ordering an equivalent set of 12.9 grade steel bolts of ebay and putting that in cant hurt matters.
