  • 0 degrees pitch on new 600n dfc

    Hi all

So i sold my raptor which paved the way for a new 600n dfc

Got it all built and now going through setup with it. Problem i'm having is getting 0 degrees at mid stick.

Currently it gives about 5°with servo horns at 90. Now i could shorten the blade grip links but not by nearly enough. Which means shortening the aileron links and then giving up on 90 degrees with the elevator servo horns.

That can't be right can it? I must have made a mistake somewhere surely? I tried searching and came across some similar problems with the electric version. But the solution seemed to be buy some new kde parts. Which seems an odd thing to have to do.

    Anyideas anyone?

    Thanks

    R.

If your going by the manual, the link size are a guide. How is you A arm looking for 90 degree that the part usually the problem come from as only little adjustment.

With your centre stick at +5, what do you have at full throw? +5 would indicate that your swash is too high and you need to shorten all 3 links to the servos. Get your servo arms perfectly 90, use the swash leveling tool to help with this. Remove the screw from the servo arm, screw the level tool to it, insert the rod and line it up with the ball links and then get the bar perfectly vertical using sub trim, if over 30, try a different ball position. Then connect 1 link to the aileron lever and using the swash tool again get this perfect 90, then fit the other link to suit. Repeat for pitch and elevator. Then put the swash on, and get that level using swash leveller. Once all that is set, put the head on, and check mid stick and adjust the 3 swash links to get even throw, reset the pitch links to stock first.

        That's a great guide.
The problem with the Aligns is, two servo links can be adjusted ( Aileron and pitch ) but the elevator arm is fixed with a non adjustable A arm so there is no easy adjustment!

Edit. If the A arm is 90 deg then you shouldn'd have any geometry problems!

Not sure if its the same as a standard 600 but a straight edge lines up between the servo screw on the ele servo and bellcrank gives you a line for the centre of the button head on the bottom of the a arm

0 degrees pitch on new 600n dfc

Oh yes of course the elevator is fixed. In that case still follow the procedure but adjust the pitch and aileron links to get a level swash, you should then have equal swash throw and be able to get 0 pitch at mid stick by adjusting the pitch links. Remember you can still adjust the elevator arm by the links between it and the servo, make sure the elevator arm is perfect 90 as well.

              Thanks all
Ok I think I get it.

Because the elevator arm is fixed i have to sacrifice 90° servo horns as the only way to shorten it is to move it down

The others I can just shorten the links on, Thanks!

Thought I might have put something upside down or something!

No, don't sacrifice 90' servo horns, they NEED to be 90'. do as said above, set horns at 90,(You shouldn't ever need to use subtrim to achieve this btw), make sure your a-arm ball link is tightened fully down and level the swash with pitch/aileron swash links. Don't adjust the elevator a-arm ball link, this should be fully tightened down. Theres something else wrong of you can only get 5' at mid stick with servo horns at 90. Can you post a pic of setup at mid stick please?

Something is not right, these things go together with the servo horns at 90 degrees

                      So here are some pics

These are all taken during beastx setup step G (although you get the same result when at Mid Stick)

Its really hard to see the elevator setup due to its position. I can't see how to adjust it further without sacrificing 0degrees. here is a shot at 0degrees

you can see that the elevator servo is not at 90. The others of course I can adjust no problem.

                      Any help greatly appreciated.

                      Thanks

Can you not put your servo 90 degrees and then adjust your linkages to the A arm to adjust that 90 degrees too? Cant be that far out!
Both my 600 and 700 with DFC head dont get that problem!

looking at those pics you need to work on your servo horns to get them at 90' and you need to screw your dfc links all the way down. Your probably getting your 5' at mid stick due to those dfc ball links not being fully screwed down.

BTW, are you fitting your servo horns whilst in menu g (you should be) ?

thanks for all of your help guys.

solved most of the problem by screwing the DFC links right down. I hadn't realised they would keep on going down so left too much adjustment in them.

only problem no is getting the ar7200BX to show blue at 6 degrees during setup (currently purple). I'm not sure how much that actually matters. Some seem to say it will be fine others say buy new blade grips!

I'm going to take it up to Skyline for a once over anyway so will discuss there.

                              Thanks
