Decided to go for the trex 600 dfc. Got a few parts laying around for it ready to go in. A trip to midlandsmes thinks :-)

5000's won't fit. They would also be too heavy.

I run 3300s and 3500s which fit nicely.

You might get 4000s in but these would be tight.

Your motor size won't make a difference as to what fits.

I've just bought a 600E and it came with an Opti 6S 5000 that fits no problem and isn't too heavy from the demo flight the seller did.

(I haven't got a clue what a 600E DFC is and if or how it's different to mine, what does DFC stand for? (apart from Don't F*** Crash!))

I imagine yours is the older 600E that runs on a single 6s 5000mah Pack, The newer Align 600E along with the DFC which stands for "Direct Flight Control" iIthink uses two 6s ~3300mah packs in series for 12s to achieve a much greater power output.

Yep, if it takes a single 5000mAh 6s battery then it must be the older 'non-pro' ESP version of the Trex 600e... a totally different heli in pretty much every way to the later 12s Pro EFL or now DFC version. The later version used two 6s packs that are rail mounted horizontally sliding between the frames rather than the single pack mounted vertically on the front of the frame.

The difference is that your machine is the older 6S (6 cell or 25V running voltage) machine, and the DFC is the newer 12S (12 cell or 50V running voltage) machine.

5000mAh packs will not fit the DFC. I have both packs and used to own the 600DFC and can assure you this is a certainty

4000 turnigys are the biggest you can fit in a pro, they need taping to the rails too. They will fit with Velcro but it's a massive pita getting them in and out.

Why not get a 550 and run it on 6S so you don't have to buy new packs?

You could get an older 600 that will fit the 6s 5000mah batteries and sort the motor out to suit?

Already have this machine setup and hovering on 10s. I dont think I would like to purchase an older model as parts will start becoming a problem.

They would be fine if you were running it on 12s. I use 2600 to 3300 6s packs in my 600 size 12s helis. What have you been using so far to do your hovering?

10s 5000 packs. Only hovered it so far, the vbar still needs to be dialled in. Think I will try these packs for the first few flights. How much flight time do you get on them Sheryl?
