I personally don't fly hard enough, or have the money to worry about the best packs. I used to use the Turnigy brand from Hong Kong which offered not bad performance for a very cheap price.... that was until I started getting packs with dodgy cells. Tried the Gens Ace on the back of a massive US following and have been suitably impressed given how cheap they are to buy in this county. I can only go from my experience, others may chime in and suggest something else.
Yes, Heliguy do supply lipos- think they are called Rapid Charge or something? Again, can't comment as I've never used them.Steve

I think i will buy 1 x Ace batt and 1 x Thunder Power and see which i prefere ?
HeliGuy does them as well - yea rapid charge ones but cant find anyone who uses them, they also have a high C rating which i presume they pack more power when needed.....?

I'd say forget about the Thunder Power stuff. With respect with your level of flying you wont tell the difference. Grab yourself 4 Gensace 2200mah 3s 25c packs instead as that is pretty much what one Thunder Power will cost you. What you need is lots of batteries with this heli as they don't last long per flight. Thats why I love my TT360, flies for ever on a packPete

ok point noted on the Ace batts and prolly a better idea :-D
Now can someone help me udnerstand this C rating IN SIMPLE TERMS!!!!
i.e thelower the C rating the better the batt?
Also what charger do i need as looking at chargers and dont have a clue about all the ratings, discharge this and quick charge that
I'll prolly buy 4-5 batts.

In very simple terms the higher the C rating the better. Basically 1C is one times the battery mah. So a 2200mah 1C battery could safely discharge at it's rating of 2200ma, 10C is 10x that so 22000mA. In my experience, 25C will be perfectly sufficient for a long time while you're learning. You only NEED the higher C rating lipos once you're approaching learning to be a 3D godPete

What about the chargers, these seem more complex!?

Glad to help
Yeah try a few different packs and see what you think.
The C rating is the amount of Amps the pack can supply under load. It's generally better to go higher with the rating as the pack will be less stressed, come down cooler, and in theory last more cycles.
So, have you decided on a battery connector as not all packs come with the same, and some don't come with any at all?Steve

i'll prolly use the ace batt's as recommend so what would i need to get to use and charge these?
