        Hi Tom,

I am a new boy too and have just built my TRex 450 Sport V2, I found that the hex keys in the kit did the job OK (for now!) I did buy some ball link pliers and a good set of angled tweezers to help hold bits in place.

I used money saved to buy extra LiPos!!! Als Hobbies in Milton Keynes had a great deal on these prefitted with DEANs connectors. These are apparently Als own design with a little ridge on the connector to make pulling off a little less stressful on the soldered joints.

Best of luck with the build I really enjoyed mine and found this forum had some brilliant help when it came to the setup.

I bought one of those kits when I first started out. They do have what you need driver wise for a 450, and include two 1.5mm hex drivers which is perfect for dealing with the 450 feathering shaft. Honestly though, the quality of them is pretty low, and I found after not much use the hex ends started rounding off.

It'll get you started but won't last the course.

thanks guys, i will need a quality tool set as for repairs etc.

Is that all i need is the Hex driver set? or do i need specail plyiers etc? I would rather buy everything at once, i see Align do a tool set as well for £14

Hex drivers, ball link pliers, pitch gauge, and thread lock are essential. Things like a swash leveller can be cobbled up out of bits of wire etc.
You may find other tools you need but those are the bear minimum.

Oh yeah and a ruler for measuring stuff.

Just the essentials as listed above will do to start with Tom. The rest of the stuff will just accumulate

A good set of hex drivers. The align ones are good and don't break the bank. Just buy a standard pitch gauge nothing fancy it should cost 7 -10 quid at the most. Ball link pliers are a personal preference but the align work well on 450s. I use loctite blue 243 thread lock but any blue thread lock should do it. Don't use red threadlock anywhere in a Heli.

Just have a dig through the tool sections on the above sites. Fastlad do some very nice tools.

Don't assume anything prebuilt is loctited. Best to take it apart and loctite it yourself. Loctite is the most important thing.

Gens Ace are pretty well respected packs for the money. 3S 30C 2200mAh should see you good:-
