from all the advice, im now looking at the 450 v2 sport with a dx6i radio

this will give me a decent heli and good controls on the radio which i can use on other heli's if needed.

            Hi Tom,

I doubt that you'd be disappointed with the RTF and to be honest, the fact that the servos aren't quite as good as the Pro won't matter unless you suddenly find you've turned into a 3D Pro overnight! The plastic parts can be replaced as required with the carbon fibre parts (I think someone mentioned that earlier?) and you will be able to use the transmitter with other heli's.

            Cheers

Some hex drivers would be good, things like ball link pliers, pliers themselves, screwdrivers.... you will need a pitch gauge to setup the pitch range on heli...aa batteries for the dx6i? Hobby king is best for lipo's, but they will take about 2 wks to come, the size you need are 11.1v 2200mah 3 cell lipos. you will need grease for the bearings in the head/tail. The locktite will come with the kit for fastening the screws especially when fixing a metal part. Some type of connector to solder onto your esc, xt60's are what i use as the lipo's from Hk come with these fitted so its easier.

                  charger?

Keep us posted if you think you forget anything

Buy some decent lactate, Zap47 I use. The stuff that comes in the kit I found was more difficult to work with.

You'll almost certainly never have everything you need, so best setting Fast-lads ( other retailers are available ) as your homepage now

Tom get a good set of hex drivers, saves you the hassle of rounding out the screws. A swashleveling tool for whichever heli you get and a blade pitch gauge. Ball link pliers are usefull and depending on how fat your fingers are( I speak from experience ) a set of neddle nose pliers.

Align hex drivers work very well, and not pricey

I just eyeball the swash level, never had an issue yet.

Tom I got this set when starting out and the hexdrivers rounded out quite easily although at the time I thought this looked like a great idea.
