    Nerra,

Could you post the link to the guy you bought it from a lay out what you paid , how long it took , what you got, time to arrive etc.

It's bound to be a recurring question and theme on these forums.

    Cheers.

            Yipee its arrived !

I took delivery of a T-rex 450 SE V2 today with (as Nerra but plus x5 blades)

            1 x Trex450se v2
            3 x hitec 65mg servos
            1 x futaba 9650
            1 x Gy401
            1 x spare canopy
            4x Align pro wood blades
            1 Carbon "no name" blades

Total price delivered was £410 with no VAT / Import duty to be paied (marked as gift). I couldn't resist buying lots of wood blades, as they are only £6 a pair !

There was a hold up with my order (it took 17 days instead of 5) as he had ran out of pro wood blades! Fung kindly sent me (at no extra charge) a carbon set instead of the missing wood blades.

My only gripe is the outer box had been punctured in transit, and the painted canopy has a small crack where the canopy peg goes. Its easily repairable though.

When I expained to the parcelforce man my box was punctured, he said, "thats nothing look at this". In the back of his sprinter van there was a box in pieces. He had said the depo had told him to try to deliver it, but that he was too embarred to even try, so he was going to tell them later the delivery had been rejected. Its a sorry state of affairs, but the good news is that the 450 comes in a bullet proof aluminum case. It no good after the heli is built mind, but very usefull during transit from Hong Kong.

Anyway the Rotor Head is now assembled, and the chassis built. I agree with previous sentiments, that the kit is quality, and can't wait to get it airborne !

Wow you have a fair few blades to trim the furniture with there
I use my metal case to keep my Lipos in mate (6S) I Lined it with foam & it holds all four and keeps them safe..
In answer to your query about strength, I nose-dived my 450 SEv1 VERY hard into next door's garden from about 40ft up and the only damage apart from the usual flybar, blades & feathering shaft (Which nearly ALWAYS suffer) Was a broken skid, cracked plastic undertray & canopy. The Carbon frames didn't even have a scratch.
              Cheers,

Ive always found the carbon frames extremely strong on my V1 and I believe the V2 are slightly thicker, in fact in all the crunches ive managed ive only broke 1 frame. lots of shafts etc. haha.

plus those plastic undertrays are a weak point.
                All the best

I'm glad to see it finally came. Wow, I didn't bother to check the price of blades when I ordered. I should have done the same as you. Keep us updated on the build.

The build is going fine. The heli is basically built, just soldering and electronics placement and servo/ccpm setup.

Was a bit ****ed off my Dx7 didn't come with a charger Whats all that about? I also had to drill to open the boom supports so the self tapper can get through, which seems odd. Didn't mind really, but though is was strange? Also Align had assembeled the shaft that sits in the autorotation gear so it was not possible to put the bolt through the hole. I had to drift the shaft/axle out of the autoration gear with the screwdriver shaft Align supply. It took me about 30 mins to work out how to do it as it would not budge with finger power alone!

All in all pleased with progress, just worred about electronics placement as all helis seem to be different. I could do with some pice of a good trex 450 with Dx7 setup to see how to place/route things.

You didn't need to do that. you use cable ties pushed through the gap and cut them off ether side

No not that bit, I mean the alloy bits that go on the end of the graphite support rods.

Just a quick question to those who've ordered from Fung at Flying Hobby, how have you found his service / speed of delivery etc. I'm all for ordering a 450SEV2 3D package off him but prefer to check in my own mind that my £350 is relatively safe.

Is it worth me ordering anything else whilst doing this (are blades etc significantly cheaper with him than in the UK>)

As you know my order was delayed by two weeks. I emailed him and he sent it out immediately. When I ordered I had two reccomendations from members of this site. Now there are 4 including nerra and me, so the decision should be easier. Remember you are protected by law when ordering with a credit card.

I ordered lots of pro wood blades as they were so cheap - £6 a pair instead of £12. The Dx7 is about 190 which didn't seem that good to me, as you can get them in the UK for £190.

I did see someone on ebay selling a new V2 kit with 401 etc. for even cheaper, but I would stick to companies others have used with sucess if I were you.

better service and quicker delivery than midland. I'd have no hesitation spending a grand or two with them.
