I ordered it from Flying Hobby in the end. Its actually supposed to arrive today . Not sure if the postal strikes will effect its delivery? I paied a bit extra to have it sent by courier on a 5 day delivery so I doubt it. Unfortunately I am away at a conference tomorrow and then I am doing a trackday at Spa on monday, so won't get to tinker with it till Wednesday next week.

Rest assured I will let everyone know if it arrived OK, and if I had to pay VAT etc.... I know there are others who are interested in what I paied, how long it took etc.

Hopefully my next post will have a picture of the T-rex kit kit with it

I guess it all depends if he has them in stock or not, and whether he orders them direct from HK, in which case I could pay £430 plus 27.5% customs duty. I have allready e-mailed him re-stock vat. etc.

Buying oversea's is not for the feint hearted. Check with Credit Card supplier if they will cover you and how long would it take for a rebate if things go wrong....also can you pay with paypal ? That's safe up to £500. I've had good experience of this.

As for import duty.... never paid that yet.
IF you get caught (try and get your product marked 'sample' or 'replacement') then normally it's 17.5% VAT and there *might* be import duty DEPENDING on where it's come from and what it is... (for example we're actually in an embargo with the USA at the moment over luxury goods so if you buy diamonds, watches, perfume or similar luxuries, you'll get spanked....phone your local Customs and Excise office for the low down) Also parcel force will spank you for £13.50 'Handling Fee' .... again it's worth using a global courier like UPS or FEDEX as there's only 1 fee to pay.

Actually it hasn't arrived yet The Tracking cod does not seem to work either. It does seem to send me to the parcelforece website though. That suggests the recent strikes might have affected its delivery. I will email them tonight to get more info, and as always keep people posted.

I would give parcelforce a ring. I once had some stuff come from america and I kept waiting for it, finally I rang parcel force and it turns out it had been sat there nearly a week. I didn't have anything through the door to say it was there either.

Do you have a tracking number from flying hobby beginning with "EE" and ending "HK"? I've tracked mine and it says "United Kingdom In transit".

Parcel Farce aren't/haven't been on strike, they're just slow.
I had a delivery from Helikraft, it arrived in this country on the 27th.
I tracked it to their hub in Leyland where it stayed for the next ten days.
I finally went and collected it myself on Monday.
The letter telling me they had it and I had customs charges to pay (not as much as it could of been, cheers Helikraft) arrived here yesterday.
Taiwan to UK-1 Day.
Leyland to Morecambe-nearly two bloody weeks.

Paid using paypal and no customs problems, although I will wait and see as I have had stuff delivered by Parcel Force and then had a letter arrive in the post a few days later asking for some money.

I emailed fung, and he says they are still waiting for some rotor blades to arrive, so it has not been despatched. I told him to send it to me with any colour rotor blades he wants . The bad news is the website now shows the Trex 450SE V2 3D combo as being on backorder, so I hope there will be no more delays

Ah that sucks man. Yeah just after I ordered mine, I noticed they were out of stock and wondered whether there would be a delay.

I haven't seen the package yet, its at home waiting until I get home from work. Damn the day is going to go so slow

Once I get home I'll check it out and report back.

Well it was all there with no damage or dodgy looking parts. The box was marked as a low value gift so I never had to pay any duties, vat or lame parcel force handling fees.
