OK, so rather than wait to get a Blade 400 when they come out, I am opting to go for a 450 SE V2. I have completely outgrown my blade Cx2 and have been abusing T-rex's on Phoenix for a too long. I appreciate spending a bit more now should save me money in the long run. My only concern is the carbon frame, and if I would be better with the alloy verson in terms of its ability to take damage?
I have researched like crazy the best spec to get (thanks must go to Trex tuning and this site btw). It seems the following setup paired with a Dx7 transmitter/reciever would be good ;
Align T-Rex 450 SE New V2 + GY401 + S9650 + HS65-MG x3
As luck would go there is a london based internet site selling them (speced as above) for the bargain price of £435 . My only problem is the price seems too low, and collection from london is not allowed
http://just-heli.com/index.php?main_...&products_id=4
I suspect he is buying them direct from Hong Kong from http://flying-hobby.com/catalog/prod...oducts_id=1745
He is also selling a Trex se v2 with Futaba g 6EXH Radio ready built on his site, and it seems too much of a coincidence his special deal is the same as the flying hobby special deal.
With no VAT / Duty the kit with the 401 works out to £350 plus shipping. I have no problem buying from HK with Credit card protection, but if I get hit with Vat and duty will pay more than if I go through the just-heli site!
I guess it all depends if he has them in stock or not, and whether he orders them direct from HK, in which case I could pay £430 plus 27.5% customs duty. I have allready e-mailed him re-stock vat. etc.
What I am asking is basically what would you experience guys do? Has anyone used / heard of the just-heli.com site, or even ordered from flying-hobby.com?
Also do me a favour and just reassure me I am doing the right thing with the spec I have chosen. As I say I totally agree with using expensive electronics/alloy rotor heads for durability, ease of flying etc. The thought of a of a total destruction landing still weighs heavily on my mind though
