Due to all the recomendations i have been given i will try one at some stage, there appears to be an awful lot of damn good Lipos available now, most carry a good warranty so are a safe purchase

Just spoken to Overlander and they 100% back up their Lipos and the ratings given
The problem with 5s packs is the need to fit an as yet unavailable 15 tooth pinion. Think I will stick to 6s & buy the one in the 1st link to test.

Well I maidened the trex 500 today.
Very nice heli & I would just like to thank a few people on here that have put alot of time & money into helping me get to this stage it certainly made my build alot easyer.
These include Ash, trvo, paul, barney, thomas chris, etc etc
You all know who you are & I'm real sorry if I've forgotten someone.
Unfortunately it was gusting 25 to 30 mph so I couldnt get any meaningful flying in with it due to not realy being able to trim it.
My first impression is its alot more responsive to pitch inputs than what I'm used to & my tame setup is probably hindering me slightly.
I am now in a position to give you my opinion on the tornado 25c 2200.
It's not too good, I flew this pack out first for 4mins 30 secs & the cellpro stated it was 75 % depleted & only 25% charge remaining the head speed wasnt slow but not as quick as I had hoped. Remember these are 25c rated cells. I then put the Revo 2100's in (18c rated packs) & boy what a difference these cells made to the head speed. So much so that I had to turn the gain on the Spartan down by 8% to stop the tail wagging.
I did some more trimming with this pack & landed as soon as the 4 mins 30 secs was up on the timer. I put this pack straight on to the Cellpro as I had done with the Tornado & it still had 45% left in it so the Revos give better output & a longer flight time than the Tornados.
All I can sya is either Mike is under rating his cells or Tornado are over rated.
Sorry but after spending £70 on two Tornado packs I am a bbit disapointed with what I have got especialy when you can buy the Revo 2100's for a fiver less & get longer flights.
I decided after running two packs to cut my losses & not risk a crash in the wind & came home a happy bunny.

Sounds good Martin!
Question re: the Tornado packs - are they new?
If so - perhaps they just need bedding in?
Just a note too - it's not the best idea to charge a pack straight after flying it - they need a little rest time first - maybe you already do this, but the way your post reads, perhaps not?
