  • Trex600 cyclic interaction.

Hi guys got to test fly the trex 600E on monday after work had a bit of tail wag that needed sorting with a bit more head speed & reduction of gyro gain but other than that it needed 2 clicks of forward cyclic & it hovered hands off. I ran my first pack down to 50 % capacity then flew the v2 SE for only my second time. What more can I say about the v2? It's an absolute gem of a model & I just know it's going to teach me loads about heli flying. Luckily Pete (Raptorite) turned up & put both models through a series of fast forward & backwards circuits just o check over my setup & he noticed on the 600 that coming out of the turn when backing off on the collective it rears it's nose quite a bit, is this the dreaded cyclic interaction?
When I did the geometry of the links I was carefull to get them all squared up etc but I did notice some roll forwards of the fly bar when going to full positive pitch I am thinking this will be adding forward cyclic as the pitch is fed in what can I do to sort this problem?

Glad to see you have both machines in the air. Unfortunatley due to circumstances i have been unable to come to the field this leave. But i'll be back down there keen and eager next time.

Yeh I read your other post mate sorry to hear of your loss.
The patch is in superb condition at the moment, very nicely mown thanks to Pete with the help of Steve. The farmers also mown & bailed the rest of the field so apart from dodging a few dutch bails it's perfect for us noobs

I spent ages getting my zero pitch level then used the end points to get the plus and minus 100% too - I made a swash level tool out of some perspex and an Avant Bearing, worked a treat - but you can go for a http://www.readyheli.com/T_Rex_Swash...p/leveler2.htm , some say they are a waste of time but I sware by them.

          Hey,
I recently had a strange problem with inverted punch out going a little off left...
I could have sworn it wasn't a swash problem because to the eye it looked level and i figured even if it was minutely off it wouldn't cause such an issue....

Threw one of thoes on... literally just a couple of points on the ATV's and inverted climb outs are now straight and true

I would defiantly recommend a tool as such!

          Ps,
I doubt its interaction, just end points...

On initial set up of my 600e, I had approximately +/- 15 degrees pitch. At the very extreme of the servo throw there was definitely interaction between pitch, elevator and aileron. I just cut the travel by 15% and everything was fine. As I'm working towards my "A" I further restricted the pitch to +8/-4 and it still does loops and rolls !

            Regards

Thanks for all the replies guys much apreciated I will buy a levelling tool for the swash & see if I can tune this interaction out I probably wont notice it myself but Raptorite most certainly did.
