With the distance you tend to fly the 450 the positioning shouldn't be too much of an issue.

If it gets too far away you've got more than range issue

      Hi Guys and thanks

I did um and r over where to place the tx's but having been on here, asked the local shop and re read the manual(which lead me to believe the separation was far more important than the orientation of the tx, the manual state's that they have found the orientation to not be critical) i went with the above setup as you can see. Not a glich in sight and the range check was fine.

Richie - think you hit the nail on the head there

      Thanks again all

      Cheers Dor

Im sure i read some where they dont like you to tie wrap the esc down, Ive used velcro

Well spotted Gaza, the tire wrap isn't very tight and the esc is sitting on some high density armaflex foam. Does anybody think that's a problem?

Right guys, it's bloody raining again here and like most places i'm guessing, so time me do some fettling!

Who's running a 401 with a DX7? what do you have your gain set at?
And are you using any delay?

          cheers Dor

I run around 40% gain with no delay, but it will depend on what servo you are running and the distance between the horn screw and hole.

Yes that is the ATV setting on the TX for the remote gain channel on my DX7.

along this line sort of, one problem I have with the 401 DX7 combination is switch alocation.

I cant get the Throttle hold on the witch I want it on as the gyro gain is using it and I cannot seam to be able to get that on another switch.

at the moment my TH is on the switch on the face the inner one on the right hand side Aux2 I thinkfrom memory, and the gyro gain is on the top right swith, which is where on my futabas ive always had TH. trouble is confuing in an emergency.

Anyone can help me with this one.
                  All the best
                  Tony.

Nutz, wouldn't 40% on the TX mean you aren't running HH? I say this because the DX7 only has a 0-100 so less than 50% would mean no HH unless the channel is reversed I suppose. I've got mine set to 72% on the tx which i believe is equal to about 32% gain at the gyro. Are we talking about the same thing?

Tony, my TH is on the top right(rudd D/R switch), this can be changed in the THRO HOLD menu, TH can be assigned to all 3 D/R switches, gear or aux 2.
I have the gyro set to be in HH all the time but if it wasn't then I believe you can only set it up on the gear or aux2 channel for remote gain and ofcourse within the norm,idle1 and 2 programs.

                    Hope that helps

                    Cheers Dor

I use my gyro on the gear switch so you have a lower 100-0 (normal mode) and a upper 0-100 (AVCS), I just checked and it is 55% on HH.

I would of liked to move my T/H switch but it is in my place of preference, it is the RUDDER D/R I would like to re-assign and this is where I miss Futabas programing.

Now I'm getting confused, the dx7's range on the gyro is 0-100. Are you talking about Rate 0 and Rate 1?

I don't use the gyro feature, if when you set-up (the menu where you select the model) you leave Gear=Gear and Aux2=Aux2 you will not have a gyro menu, you basically have to change either Gear or Aux2 to gyro which in turns disables the physical switch.

Now becks I have my radio set to Gear=Gear and Aux2=Aux2 and have my Gyro gain plugged into Gear, so if my Gear switch is up (ATV 0-100) I am in AVCS and if my gear switch is down (ATV 0-100) I am in normal mode. Look at as a up is a (+) 0-100 and down is a (-) 0-100.

                          Hope this clears it up.
