  • 450 and dx7 question

    Hi all,

Finally got hold of a dx7 tx and rx. Can anybody suggest or post some images of the best position/arrangement of the rx's(the 2 boxes)?
Also where does everybody position there esc's?

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers Dor

I use the Spectrum AR6100 RX, it is a very small single unit, I mount mine above the battery as per this pic

      Thanks Nutz.

I've got the AR7000 the 2 unit one. Why do you have your battery mounted below rather than on the upper plate?

Another alternative is mount the reciever at the back, the ESC on the tray at the front and the battery on the top tray.

When I used the AR7000 on my old SE I mounted the addition receiver on the side of the tail servo. Worked well.

I've got the AR7000 in my 450, and it's fine. The box rx is on the lower back shelf, and the smaller RX is also on the back shelf, but about an inch forward.

Ok, local shop seems to think there wouldn't be a problem putting the rx box at the front and running the wire to the 2nd box pass the motor and esc to the very rear of the low plate and having it mounted there.

Is positioning the box's inline with there little antenna sticking out to the side going to be ok?

                  Cheers Dor

Mine sticks out the side. Both are paralell to each other. I hear that's not ideal. But as I say, my little RX is in the middle of the heli, on the shelf, with the bigger one at the back of the shelf as far back as I could get it. Stuck with Velcro. If I had my heli, I'd send photos. Sorry. But it seems OK. Only done about 10 flights with the DX7 though. But so far, so good. Lovely Tx!

And the beastie fly's, straight out the table, so to speak.

Went with the first box at the front on the bottom and the 2nd box at the very back of the bottom tray.

Feel free to comment guys and girls not that an invite is needed

I can take the feed back oh and yes i will be make the motor/esc wires short to get them tucked out the way.

6 flights over last two days, between the rain bursts. No probs, seems to deal with the wind well. Also seems to be trimmed really close but will have to wait for a nice day to sort the final trimming.

anyway thanks for listen, you know how it is, you got to tell someone. A dog with two dicks

Looks like an excellent instilation, just one comment/question should the two reciever ariels be in different planes on the two recievers to give full coverage. i.e if one is horizontal should not the other be vertical.
                              All the best
