    Hello!

Did more flying since my 2 attempts before I went on holiday. Took down the EXPO setting down to -10 (from -30%) and it's better. Haven't changed the shafts yet, but increased the head speed.

    Video here:

    [ame]http://www.thelisters.co.uk/temppics/Heli3.wmv[/ame]

Less wobble, but it's still there. So, bent shaft?

Nearly smashed in the final seconds, but ... I didn't And, on my first 2 flight, I broke landing gear - twice. Got the new bending one, and.. no breaks, but also, no heavy landings. Improvement.

Hows my flying? At least I never smacked a bush, into the ground or the fence.. or the dogs little toy!

Your doing good, looks like the head speed is still a little low as it is a slow wobble, the TG don't help but keep it on a little longer.

With the head spinning slow look at main shaft to see if it is bent or just change it to be sure.

      Thanks Martin.

Just used my second battery for more of the same. Even more improvement. I'm not in control yet, but am managing to make it go more or less where I want it. Upped the head speed a bit, and that has helped, but my curve is crazy now. 0%, 45%, 72%, 90%, 100%

I've hovering around 50% stick (middle), so maybe I should 0%, 50%, 80%, 90%, 100%? But does that not chew the batteries?

      Pitch is 40%, 50%, 69%, 85%, 100%

Why am I always shaking after flights???

That wobble is due to a low headspeed, you want the ATV up around 90%,its no good running the motor at 50% throttle

Also the training gear wont help but that is deffo a headpseed problem

            I run my 450 in governor mode and my normal curve is 0 90 90 90 90

You wanna get that heli on the desired RPM before midstick

Thanks for that... Would 0, 70, 90 90 90 be OK for me then? I'm just worried that the spinup from 0 to 90 is stressful on the motor? Maybe wrong... How does a real heli work? Also, will that not east up battery power?

That curve would be fine,on soft start it wont kick in hard anyway

I was told that if you run the motor much below full chat it is less efficient and draws more power also the ESC is effectively bleeding off power as heat as its sending a lower voltage to the motor

                  Thanks.
Throttle curve set then, and ready for a flight ... BUT .. it has started drizzling up here!

The blades will sound fast but you will soon get use to that.

With the faster head speed you will get more cyclic reaction so take care with the right stick !!

Just a question about how it flies. It looks like you are constantly correcting it from right back to left on your airlerons.

Is everything set up to 90 degrees? Is the swash plate level at midstick and no cyclic input? Perhaps your trim was set with too much right cyclic?

I think it's my fault... I thinkt he heli is well trimmed... My fingers are so stiff when I fly, that I may be pulling back or pushing forward without my knowledge. However, I will check. I have noticed that my nose is swinging a bit, and I need to keep giving a bit of rudder to point the nose away all the time. But I think that's because my throttle thumb isn't going straight up and down due to me being tense. It must be, because I'm sure the 401 is keeping it true...

Anyway, just did another flight with the head speed up. MUCH better guys! No wobble whats so ever, besides what I enduce... Blades spin up rapidly, as expected. Never seen blades go that fast! Will get my tacho on it on my next flight.

And yes, MUCH more responce! But, although harder... it's better. I LOVE the sound it makes when the blades bight the air a bit, like when it's coming backwards towards you, and you put quite hard forward elevator, and you hear the blades biting. Nice...

Here's the video of the last flight. NEARLY smashed... but set it down in panic. Normally the stock gear breaks, but this new bendy one has helped a lot.

I assume theres no problem with the blades holding at full chat in the hover?

Not sure what you mean. Sorry - Novice. How do you mean 'Blades Holding' ? They're staying on the heli, if that's what you mean?
