    I think you'd be better to get a lower KV motor if you must run a lower headspeed and wood blades.

      It generally doesn't do the ESC much good using it to make up for deficiencies in the gearing. You have a bit of leeway but you really need correct gearing first

        OK, well I have another two / three sets of woodies which is why I didnt want to ditch them just yet

        Maybe I should wait untill I have chewed my way through them and then jump up to the Carbons with the 4s Just limits my time before charging.

        I might do some tests at the weekend after soldering on a deans to the 4s cell I have and see what effect it has on the ESC when using it to ditch the RPM.

          Just don't run up the headspeed too high with those woodies on!

            No Worries Rob, I will set the throttle curve down to something like 5 and clamp the heli on the workmate and then hide in the kitchen and observe the tech from behing the door! LOL

            Can you tell I have been thinking about trying this for a while!

            I also have a set of 325 carbons I could stick on to see how it flys on the 4s as well
