  • Trex 600 been grounded for 8 weeks

Well i have been out twice this week, after a long 8 weeks wait. Well I burnt my arm first and because of this a was not able the fly, then was to bussy sorting last minute things out before we went on our hols. Then having major problems with my X5's gear box and spent 4 weeks in the garage, 2x2 times.

Well now I'm back in the air, the first time I went back out I was bricking it at first and to be fair was a bit to windy so dint push my luck. I dint notice when the main tank was only a quarter full it was hunting like the engine was reving on and off, it was fast like 3 times a second until I was just down to the header tank then it was fine. Did it on ever tank on both days, the only time it would rev normal was when I turned the gov off. But it was only when down to the last quarter, anybody have any ideas on this.

    Cheers

Sounds like a possible split clunk line.

The clunk line is the piece of fuel line inside the tank with the weight attached to it. It's how the engine draws the fuel back out.

Ok cheers I'll check tom when I get up, might as well buy some new line got to go model shop Saturday away for some fuel.

Also just looked in the manual, and the fuel tank tube should be 70mm long this one is only 55mm long

Well i got the clunk line out for inspection, the only problem i can see is the little nipple is broken. But i did this trying to get the bung out, so now i might as well buy all new.

Will see how it goes once i fit a new line and bung.

I had a similar problem with my Align governor. I eventually traced it down to a faulty extension y lead. The negative wire had got the black death even though it was only 2 weeks old! Changed the lead and no more problems.

Check the gap between the magnet and sensor, it could be that it's intermittently finding range and causing it to hunt!

Remove the gov and just fly on your tx curves.

                      Usuall does the trick.
