What are you building? A heli?

    Cheers - Rob

edit: probably a 600N given the category your message is in! Good luck with it.

600n is a pretty easy build, so thats a bonus
If you are going to run a governor, fit the sensor bracket while the frames are apart to make life easy. it's a bit of a sod to do it once everythings in and built.

It's going really easy what with the Finless and Mercuriell build videos to watch at the same time. Frames built, U/C and plumbing next, then onto linkage controls and servos as I (like many others, apparently) am still waiting on the OS 50 Hyper to come back into stock.

I'll be setting without a governor to start with unless I can do some slight on hand around my wallet whilst she's not looking (I can't afford a 2nd divorce).

        thanks guys,

        Mac

U/C and tank in, though the standard clunk has no cross cuts at the pickup end and the thin tank fuel line looks far too long as it is!

Skipped the servos for now, too many small pieces and no link wrenches to hand. Tail and boom completely built.

Just back from Leeds with an OS Max 50 SX-H Hyper and a big grin (they're not bad lads, and they had link wrenches too). Back to pages 12-16 then forward to page 20, second star on the right and straight on til morning

As far as I'm aware it's not advisable to run a governor to start with until the engine is broken in.

Cheers Fixxxer, I'll hold off with the Rev Max until the basic setup has been completed and test flown a few times.

Tail boom now attached, servos in, though cyclics not connected as I'm waiting for 3 discs with the right geometry (14.5mm radius ball fittings). Throttle linkage seems spot-on, but the tail servo throw is excessive!

Spent hours trying to line up the main gear and main shaft to fit the jesus bolt, and can't for the life of me figure out why I can't get it in there. Even tried fitting it together outside the heli body, no luck there either. Help?

Does the bolt fit through the shaft without the gear on?

The bolt will fit through the main shaft fine, and will fit through the main gear fine. When trying to get it through both it gets stuck about 3-4mm before being fully seated.

I've tried lightly lifting, depressing and twisting the main shaft around the main gear, but I can't get it to seat closer than 3-4mm!

sounds like the gear and shaft holes are slightly out of line when assembled, can't remember if mine was the same or not. If it was, it aint now .
Have you checked the other side of the hole when the bolt is pushed in? Maybe if it's not a mile out just try screwing the bolt in and it will thread through, don't overtighten the Jesus bolt.
                    Not much help I know.

Thought I'd give it another try. First outside the heli and the bolt flew into the gear and shaft and seated perfectly. So I tried fitting it in the heli and it flew in like rats up drain pipes.

So whatever was going on the last time I tried to do this is a complete Toyah Wilcox to me ("It's a mystery")

All done bar lining up the engine, plumbing a shorter clunk, dressing the wiring and applying the decals (it kinda looks like a killer whale atm).

Of course, still got to go up and down the head setup a few more times

All done bar sticking the decals on.

Took it to a friend who designs, builds and flies large petrol helis (inc. multi-rotors like the chinook, he's not into 3D ) and we tried to set it up for sport flying (-2 +5 +10). However, my dinosaur TX fought us back all the way and we had to dramatically shorten the top links between the flybar and the blade grips to get anywhere near!

Anyone out there still remember how to setup a Field Force 6 (T6XAs/Hs) please?

Ignore this one, I've bought a DX7 to make things simple and will relegate the FF6 to planks only.

                              cheers Mac
