  • FBL degrees!

Just converted my 600 to the Align 3G & head so what's you best setup on collective & cyclic degrees.
I've preset mine to 14 on pitch 12 on cyclic.

Im not familiar with the 3G system but 12 on the cyclic seems an awful lot. The beastx only uses 6.

no it does not it uses far more, 6 degs is a setup factor it needs to know when your programming it
it would bearly roll and flip on 6 degrees of swash !!

a safe set up to try is 12-13 degs on the collective and 11-12 on the cyclic
see how it flys and then add/subtract as needed also turn the pots down to about 10-11 oclock or the head will wobble when you perform flips - rolls etc

Agreed -off the top of my head, I've got 12 collective and 12 cyclic. The guy at the BeastX forum suggests having as much cyclic pitch as you can get without binding and to let the BeastX take care of how much to actually use. Obviously this may not necessarily apply to the 3G.

Agree Beastx manual mention max out cyclic without binding.

You have to remember this is FBL..

6 Degrees on a FBL without electronics would flip quite fast..

The 6 Degrees is what the BeastX require's to function correctly. The step after that or so, is to give it more range - If the BeastX require's it and for extreme settings etc

On my 600 BeastX, I got 6 degree's but barely nothing more after that. It flipped rapidly!

You might not even reach 6 Degree's in flight.

So.. Get your 6 Degree's, Set your maximum travel that doesnt bind, and forget about it

EDIT: 6 Degree's is what is required for the BeastX - Not sure with the 3G System

So try setting up your beastx with 6 degrees cyclic range and then tell us it flips and rolls well LOL and the align asks for 12 degs on cyclic :0)

Callum, I think your missing something mate.. I dont think your just on 6deg! 6 Deg with Beast X.. is only a part of the menu (on "L") so the system knows where it is and can operate effeiciently.. I'm sure you running more as you would have done menu "L" afterwards giving you more?.. I'm sure im running near 13!

this is the point i was making it would be like running 50 dual rates

Your missing the point. The 3G needs to know the total travel it can actually move to hence the high numbers. In flight as each direction is now GYRO controlled its irrelevant as it works like a heading hold Gyro. The % in the Tx controls the roll rate/flip.

An interesting thing I learnt on the BeastX forum which was not immediately obvious (to me at least!) is that with FBL heads you need to have a lot more cyclic pitch than you're used to with a traditional FB head because with an FB head, you might only have something like 6 degrees cyclic but when the flybar tilts during flight it can easily double the actual angle on the blade. Hence the reason why an FBL controller may require something like 12 degrees to replicate the function of an FB head.

I've just checked 3 of my heli's that have beastx the 250 cyclic 10' 450pro 11 & my MT 9 these settings are what the beastx produced on setup & no altered setting in tx.
Checked my 500 3G cyclic is 10 but I know could do with upping it abit, hovered the 600 earlier today with the 12 cyclic 14 pitch she feels good with abit of cyclic added in' but not going to know on the cyclic need to get to the field.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.
