No, the longer servo travel increases the resolution. But in any case resolution is not a major concern. If the low+high endpoints add up to 200% or more it is great.

I've had my DS760s work fine even when the set-up has been questionable.

However, when I've had slow tail wags & the tail not being locked on, it's (IIRC) always been because the tail mechanism is failing and binding. (Tail feathering bearings moving axially & jamming under centrifugal load.)
