  • 700 sudden tail wag?

My 700 FBL has suddenly produced a dodgy tail wag in the hover. I recently fitted Quick uk tail grips and its been since then but ive swapped them out for another set off my 600 and the wag is still there?

Tried playing with gyro gains but its there at all values. All mechanics seem spot on after a thorough check.

Could it be a sudden fault with the 3GS system?

    Any thoughts guys

One check we can do this weekend mate is whip the standard set of my 700 and put it on yours and see if it makes any diff, would totally eliminate the tail grips

You didn't inadvertently reverse either the grips or the blades ?. We WILL expect a photo if its the latter
      Janek

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

Interestingly Janek i did when i first fitted them causing no tail hold at all. They were quickly put right and then the wag was there.

I wondered if the stress of having them reversed had caused a problem so i stripped them, re greased the bearings etc and put back together.

Out today and the wag was still there. Phoned FL as i was going to return the grios as faulty but Andy suggested swapping the set out on my 600 to double check if the grips were the issue.... swapped out and still there!

            Very strange.

Can't think why, but maybe the initial reversal bent the shaft or the hub ?......but either of those should also cause a high frequency vibration.

See what your saying but the heli barely spooled up on the deck before i realised they were reversed.... its like having no tail!!LOL

The wag is akin to a gain setting far too high... no vibrations and all is smooth running on the tail and shaft.

Maybe check the foams I personally have not been a big fan of the align pads maybe try a futaba one instead. The align foam can degrade quite quickly.

Yep Adie... as James said, Futaba's used from the outset, the align pads get binned off every time.

You bin them! could use them for putting up posters instead of using blu tac. Yes James back in the Hobby just as a keyboard flyer and an assistant to Stu for the moment. Hopefully get out the weekend and give the v50c a good thrashing.

Stu you teach! Shut up. Stu you would have to pay me £30 to listen to your dribble. "Healthy mind healthy body" as the saying goes. Im just getting into the correct mind set for the coming season.
