Trex 600 shakes

I had the exact same problem on my 600le last week,checked the usual suspects,all were fine.I discovered that the grub screw on the elevator arm was loose,letting it move from side to side on the control shaft causing the awful vibration on a negative descent.Grub screw tightened,heli flying great.

Not quite the same, but we had one of our fliers with a rex that had SEVERE tracking problems, whatever we did they were just way out. Swapped them over with mine(got nitro smell on my leccie now, EUCGGH!), and they were perfect. Turns out his blades-brand new out the box!!- were out of balance. Maybe try and swap your blades with someone first? Just a shot in the dark really.....

Trevorj, did your elevator have 2 grub screws in? One top and one bottom, looking at mine now and looks like the lower one has fell out!

Ok, no worries, I'm not sure then........

It was the lower one that tightens on the control shaft,if you have any side to side movement of the elevator arm it will throw the wash timing out,hence the vibration

the bearing in the boom would make it shake if its come loose

mine came loose in the boom and i didnt actually notice it till i broke it

yeah me too - maybe if we get our choppers out together (haha) and compare all the bits around and attached to the head to see what wiggles on mine, and what wiggles on yours, maybe we will be able to see whats missing/loose

the manual only shows one grub screw in the elevator bar.......which was still in place....

bearing for the torque tube tail? I have a belt drive - I prob should have mentioned that earlier

I know you arent really meant to, but id be inclined to remove the boom/tail section and blades then spool it up. If that doesnt do anything, I would refit it then take the headblock and swash assembly off and spool it up to see if that makes a difference.

Good idea - not sure if this would show it up, but worth a try. When I get a video up this will make more sense, as its not a violent shake, but more of a constant movement of the whole heli, up/down/side to side
