I'll pay more attention next time Tom - I hadn't noticed anything major...
I may not have been paying enough attention though
        LOL

I've been flying 600's since they arrived and the early models came with too large a gap. Using a R90 Liner was the normal fix or fitting the std liner with a layer of paper.

Align actually addressed this by altering either the bell or clutch dia in short order.

Strangely just last week I fitted a brand new clutch and Bell and Its screaming blue murder before its engaging so cant see the shoe lasting very long. I'm guessing close on 8,000RPm before it bites

My 2nd 600 had a liner/bell fitted over a year back and it was spot on and still fine..

There seems to have been a big rise in folk having the issue again. Wonder if Align has resorted to using older tooling/specs etc.

Yep, this is the third 600 I have built from new and the first time I have come across it. I remember when building my first in December 07 that there were a lot of threads about this but mine was fine

it was screaming wasnt it tom, ithink if it were mine id put a quk one on .
i wouldnt want the clutch breaking with it having to open up wider before it bites.fatigue cracks and all that.plus it would be niggling at me.
on the plus side it flew a dream and i couldnt get over how tight the head felt compared to other nsp's ,no slop at all!

Mines got a high bite point too.
Only flown it once but noticed it
straight away as its over mid stick
                        before the blades start turning.

                          Cheers,

No problem with the engagement rpm on mine. Have heard some guys using a shortened 700 liner, which is a bit thicker.
