Ordered the repair bits for my 700 late on Monday night and they arrived today - thanks Fast Lads, excellent service.
I've just spent some considerable time and quite a bit of cussing trying to remove a broken fuel tank from the frames and replace it with a new one, without having to completely disassemble the main frames. What a bar-steward of a job? I ended up pulling the old one out away from the exhaust side, after pulling out the rubber cushion on that side first. And as for getting the new one in....... I was swearing a bit trying to squeeze the rubber bank in on that one side.
It's all done now, but am I missing the point with this replacement? Is there a simple and quick way to do it? Maybe someone who's done lots of 700 repairing (not wanting to name names
) has an answer?
