Nope. Most senders usually write "gift" on the labels.

Ive been hit when buying buggy stuff from the states but that was from proper model shops that cant risk putting false info on the customs tags or they themselves can be liable if the package is opened and checked at there end, although i was only buying from there when we were getting nearly 2$ to the 1£ so even if i got hit with taxes i was still saving money and then i only done large orders of a couple hundred £'s or more to make it really worth while..

Not from the Far East, touch wood have been fine buying from them. From the US I got hit every time.

Yep, just got stung on my batteries from Hobby King (never had a problem on the last two orders), and stung for god knows how much from parcel force from a heli I ordered from Flying Hobby last week. Not really ordered that much from abroad before, so feeling a bit unlucky. Maybe customs are tightening things up, or I've had a bad run.

Not had the bill from parcel force yet, but had to send them proof of purchase and full payment price for the goods this morning. There's always a risk I guess (paying for fast shipping doesn't seem to have made any difference in this case).

                    Cheers,

                    Simon

Simon, ring customer services and they can put you through to the depot your heli is being held and you can find out how much your charges are and pay them, mine were just over £20 for my frenzy 90

I think customs generally tighten things up at this time of year as there's probably a lot more folk ordering things from abroad so more money to be made for them, i've never had a problem when ordering from asia or far east but nearly always get stung when ordering from the states..

Not arrived at the depot yet, the information had to go to the main holding center. Didn't lie about how much I paid for it, so if I get hit hard, it will probably end up the same as I'd paid here (maybe a bit cheaper).

If it comes through without getting caught I wouldn't say anything, but was not prepared to lie about the value. Can't take the risk of getting into trouble over it.

                          Cheers,

Don't depend on that as 'gift' exemption is only up to about £36 and doesn't apply when the goods come from a commercial entity anyway (especially when they are not a gift either )
