What about dual rates? do I need to use them? I don't like the idea of flicking another switch really

    no dual rates

set idle up 1 at 30%

    idle up 2 50%

so you can flick between them both if you don't like one jump to the other idle mode

        Actually for the 'B' Test

        Set up the helicopter:

Paddles heavier than normal to smooth it out make it less twitchy

Head speed adjust to slightly lower so not 2000 but say 1800 should be good

Pitch Curve Now for the 'B' you can get away with -6 0 +9 I'd recommend you copy idle up 1 then make idle up 2 to -6 0 +9 The -6 means you won't drop quickly in any move, It makes it easier to handle unless you like -9 of course!

Expo try to get used to 50% (Futaba thats -50 and spektrum is +50)

Then fly it on idle up 2 if you don't like it switch to idle up 1 and fly as normal

I have my negative at -10, -6 makes sense though

I have a free evening Wednesday if the weather isn't bad I'll try this then to get a feel for some serious stuff at the weekend

Actually, I'd dial in the expo gradually 'til you get used to it.

Starting with 50% will feel as though you have no control over the heli and will need huge stick movements to control the cyclic and then you will over correct!

Dial in gradually to a point you are comfortable with.

for the B test i didn't change a thing on the heli
practise the moves with the model set to how you are used to flying it
if you don't like how it flys make small adjustments

and the main reason i didn't change a thing was
i got told i was doing the B from the chief examiner that i fly with
although i had been practising for the B adding the various moves into my flight pattern and i was reading the bmfa handbook whenever i had the odd spare minute or two with nothing else to do

good luck with the practise and the B

on the 600 the grey dampers will stop in nodding at the lower head speed
when i had mine i used one grey and one black in each side

and i took my B with an eight year old sceadu
