Unlucky Mate but these things happen, and to be fair very little damage.

If you ever going to sell your 600, it could be sold with a full service history!

          It would make interesting reading

'Quote' I love a bit of anal, me!

That'll be the reason for the chocolate star then LOL - sorry couldn't resist - i know i'm a savage.

A log book!!! You'll have the CAA dropping in to check on your bi annual total if you're not careful

My first crash involved going rotor first into a hedge - 10ft from the front window of the house, after i ran out of talent and it went over my head backwards rotor first - the neighbour was crying he laughed do hard. Only damage was a broken blade and a bent fly bar - VERY VERY VERY LUCKY! The living room window would have cost more
If everything seems under control.........you're not going fast enough

I've already found my log of use. The test pilot "tinkered" with my radio today. He was telling me I needed this pitch curve and that throttle setting etc. But hey, I don't, so I've referred to my log and put them all back to where they were. On looking at my DX7 he'd selected 15% expo and 80% dual rates on all the cyclic channels. Whilst I'm not certain that's what caused my heavy landing, I think it may have been contributory. I'm used to 10% expo and no dual rates. As such the controls would have been slower than I am used to.

I did some TT gears yesterday after I went a bit low on inverted auto flip-outs. Changed them at the field in 15 mins. Wish I'd started a thread about it now...................LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mart - that aint a crash mate, keep practicing!!

15 mins eh? It took me that long to get the old gear out. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong or there's a quick way?

I pulled the entire boom assembly off, spilt the forward tail boom gearbox and umbrella gear case and pulled the damaged gears out. Did I do it right?

Yeah, thats the right way to do it Mart. It only takes me 15 mins as I've changed so many!! Just for info the drive and umbrella gears come in sets of three to a bag. Get those as it will def happen again!

Edit: dont split the case containing the umbrella gear. Its a PITA getting the bearings off this way. Knock out the old one with a suitable tool and refit by pushing the new gear all the way home using a bit of force but without damaging the gear.

In general, shaft driven tails are a bit more delicate compared with a belt. A belt driven tail is usually very forgiving of minor contacts with the ground.

Seems to me a "coffee cups flying off" type landing and only a trolly dolly will be logging a complaint. It would not go to CAA - you're OK.

                            Cheers

Just a minor set back Martin if you basically know how to set tx to suite your flying then thats the best way to go as everyone flies differently, I found with the DX7 best not to use expo although stick movement is sensitive it dosn't take long to get used to it especially with the bigger heli's.
Good luck with ya next flight.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.
