  • 700 frame screws

I'm so fed up with everytime I got to strip the frame for whatever reason I have to be careful with those crappy ol Align screws.

Done a bit of searching and was looking for the special washers but instead found the complete package from a place called Liron. So just spent 10 mins looking this up on other forums and they seem to be sweet so I just ordered some for the reduced price for a complete set of all frame screws and collars $34 inc p+p,about £21 something I think it was.

Well as soon as they arrive I will let you know how they are

P.s Replace the tail ones also, see sesame's thread and I'm good to go.

I have the ones from Liron. Very nicely made
I have to admit I haven't had to fit any yet. If you make sure to not over threadlock the screw so it doesn't jam up the shoulder then bolts come out fairly easily.... famous last words?

I wonder if the screws are made in different plants. I had to change a bunch on my 500 build but not a single screw failed on the 600.

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

See on the 500 I cant remember this happening the last time I did anything on it but the 700 is a pain.

The first time was when I upgraded the clutch block bit and had 1 screw that I had to dremel the head so I made sure that when I put them back in I did not use to much locktight and not to overtighten them.

This time I need to get the engine out so decided to strip it in half and have a good clean up but had 3 screws round off on me and I am using a good driver.

          Hopefully no more though

I agree the bolts are pretty poor but myself I think it is more to do with the holes in the frames not being big enough.

I agree. The carbon seems to grip the screw collars and combined with threadlock they are a PITA to remove. Just for info the 600 screws have a slightly deeper recess allowing a better purchase with the hex tool. (A tip I got from Jamie at FL).

Fast Lads have them in packs of 10 including the screws here in case anyone else is needing.

They're very expensive some of them, there are some in the states available with bolts for circa 3USD for 10!

Not seen the 'special' stepped ones for that kind of money over here Jason, are you sure they have the step underneath like these ones although you cant see it in the photos in the linky?

Out of stock in most places for the prefered colours, but if you are after purple, most have them in stock.

                      Amongst others:

Well I picked up my washers this weekend, fitted nearly all but three on each side which rounded when I showed them the tool lol.

both engine mounts on both sides and one on each side on differing bearing blocks.

Washers were a bargain as they include the bolts as well!

                          Important!

Jason. Something to be aware of is the rear cyclic bellcranks can foul on the washers/bolts..

This is very apparant if you have also fitted the Quick Uk balls.

Also the 600 screws are not recessed where the driver fits so have more depth. They also seem to be turned truer than the 700 Items

I have checked this while fitting them, the two from the servo are fine, I need to exercise the full head to double check the upper bearing block screws as initial review shows this to be the case at some extreme pitch and the push rod to the swash might rub.
                            Regards,
