the swash bearing shield kept falling off so i removed it
the one way start bearng keeps slipping
i've not yet had the main gear strip but i've got spares ready to fit (but due to the frame holes being out of line i may need to strip the heli to get the mainshaft out)

and i forgot the gov don't work from new
Wow, that's quite a list!! My one way bearing slips but only on the Dynatron with 22 volts through it.

I read about the main gear being cold weather only but didn't think about it causing additional damage to other components. Hhhmmm. Thinking about it, my main gear could (optimistic me) have been damaged in the crash but took a while to manifest itself.

The better weather will be good to really work it out.

      it does fly well though

but i was the worst heli kit i've put together
if i buy another align heli it will be out at least 12-18 months before i buy one

my 600 fell together (but they had been out over 12 months when i bought it)

Had the same trouble with mine Pete, Bought a new tank and put the new bung in.

        No problems since.

Think the tank kit was around £8.

        Bung about 20p

I think putting the bung in the other way round, as electricsceadu suggested, isn't a bad idea since the pressure in the tank will be forcing the outer lip to create a tighter seal against the tank.
When its in the correct way round the pressure tries to force the bung outward and off.
Problem is how to fit it that way round in the first place?

I had the same problem with the bung in my 700 after not using it for a few weeks. As I was on the field I didn't have any PTFE tape which would have been first choice so I took the bung out and found an M4 nylock nut was quite a tight fit in the cavity on the inside of the bung, pushed the bung back in and no leaks since. By the way, I'm running a crankcase pressurised system as well so the tank runs with a high internal pressure.

I was amazed at Steve's technical prowess in solving this problem.

We all stood around scratching our heads wondering why on earth Align would stick a bloody great hole in a pressurised tank of fuel when Steve had a brainwave ----stuff a bolt in the back of the bung and shove it back in!!!

                        Genius.

                          Quick update everyone:

I swapped the 700 tank rubber for a 600 one I had spare. No more leaks!!! The 700 rubber seemed really soft compared to the 600 which may have been the issue. Anyway, this worked for me.

                          Cheers
                          Pete
