700 main gear stripping

Sorry Rob, I meant to say I agree with both of you ! Was hurrying due to a webcam conferance meeting at 8.00pm. No offence intended bud! You are still top of the "help it won't go" phonelist ! (or should that be moanlist!). If I get really desparate I ring Heliward0, but all I hear about is his ever expanding heli fleet (that he never has problems with).

Stripped another main gear today. This one only lasted 4 flights. I am now on my 5th ! So far have tried sanding the bearing blocks to hold the bearings tighter, expoying the bearings in place to stop any play. I have also cut off the locating ears and used normal M3 bolts to mount the starter/clutch bell/main pinion assembly. This allowed me to to adjust the mesh a mm closer. All to no avail though ! Anyone heard of any other theories I can try.

I am still waiting for the uprated main gear, and/or a aluminum bearing block, thats ideally what I need.
