Picked up the 700 today

Picked the 700 up today, can't wait to start the build tomorrow and see if i can get it running by sunday if i am lucky.
Any tips on the build?

Use plenty of locktite bro... and make sure the pipe is bolted on good and proper!!!!!

Build is now underway, got to the puting the torque tube in and left it for tomorrow, thanks for all the tips guys.
Bit of a pain getting the torque tube in with the 2 bearing posns, but will have another go tomorrow as i gave up and went flying.
Hopefully have it flying the weekend, if i don't end up having to do the gardening with the wife

I found,ball links were wonky but acceptable although i will swap them when better ones are out,the rods from swash to bellcranks and centre swash to mixing arms really need to be longer,i am getting some quick Uk ones 45mm and 55mm as opposed to the supplied 42mm and 50mm ones.

If you can get the tail rod thru the carbon tube i will give you a Eddie Gold Star..I used another carbon rod i had..

Apart from that,its Ok.

I have the blades

with everything Chris has said. Watch out for those rear swash links. I reckon there to short for comfort. Also you have to shorten the mixer arm to flybar cage links to what the manual says.

When the bearings and holders are in place spray some Mr Sheen on (or other silicone based spray) and it slides in a treat. If you have the plastic tube from a TT kit it's a great tool for pushing it in. Otherwise try a smaller spare boom. I think as you have two kits that came with the TT you may not have one of the plastic tubes.

I have the blades

So far chris, all hair intact.
No probs with the rod ends, all seem to be going on straight.
Rod goes in the carbon tube, push fit but ok, can i claim my eddie gold star now please
Got a tip on the torque tube so try that tomorrow.

Agree that the problems are only minor and probably already sorted on the kits that are coming out now.

Thanks to Symon i have asked Mr Models to get some of the known good ball links in so i can swap some of mine over.

I would however just like to get less exposed thread on the links i mentioned.

I took the tip Finless Bob gave on his build videos James, Apply silicon grease to both bearing holders and into the entrance of the tube and it glides in quite easily I found.

Sounds like its gonna be flying this weekend mate, Good luck and take it steady.

Yep sorted now, silicon grease worked a treat and now fitted.
Got a few more mechanical things to do and then its on to the radio fit out, that will be the task over the next couple of days.
Only got about an hour on it today as had other things to do, but hopefully get a few in tomorrow.

Its a bugger to set-up I'll tell you.

Had Rob Turnbull and Lee Bates messing with it last weekend so better hands couldnt be asked or.


After filling the tank up you get it running fine pulling like hell, Then you bring it in, Fill her up again and its a different motor when you start it up again sadly.

Taken the pump off my engine James, Running it as normal now without the pump.

Hope you have better luck with yours.

Yeh they are a bugger to set up, just takes time, you have to run them quite lean as well to stop them bogging on constant pitch and cyclic demands i.e. side ways tick tocks, not me mind but i have been around when someone was setting one up.
Only just run mine in and was starting to lean it out when the synergy went in so i have at least 4-5 plus tanks i expect to get it tunned right, or at least i hope
Nearly finished the build now, just sorting out all of the elecs etc, so another 2-3 hours should do it, probably taken 7-8 hours in total, but it has been an hour here an hour there so a bit bitty, haven't had a good sestion without having to pack it all away and then unpack again.
Hopefully, test tomorrow if the weather is nice.

Take it steady! not sure i know what that means
No will be sorting out the engine for a while i expect, all ran in before on the synergy so just need to lean it out, that i expect will take a few tanks to get right knowing how they are.
Looking forward to the blast, and every elec connector has been checked, and the loose extention, that i have used again has a lock clamp on it this time.
