James, make sure you have plenty of hair, coz you are gonna be pulling it out on the build

I found, ball links were wonky but acceptable although i will swap them when better ones are out,the rods from swash to bellcranks and centre swash to mixing arms really need to be longer,i am getting some quick Uk ones 45mm and 55mm as opposed to the supplied 42mm and 50mm ones.

If you can get the tail rod thru the carbon tube i will give you a Eddie Gold Star..I used another carbon rod i had..

        Apart from that,its Ok.

        Edit

Cant find the Quick UK linkage rods on their site now

        Ron

        I have the blades

Watch out for the long hex screws which hold the plastic stand off block for the elevator servo to the frame. Rounded off two of the buggers, then decided to use 2.6mm cap head bolts instead. I couldn't get one out which has ****ed me off, but I don't think it's going to move with the other three fixings done up tight.

Other than that, I've never been so impressed by a model. The tail is a gem, practically everything is metal.

I pick up my motor tomorrow morning, so hopefully a maiden flight this weekend.

            Enjoy your build.

Popping the tank in before you put the two frame sides together is a worthwhile tip

The rod and carbon tube is a pain but once I sussed the technique it was easy. Don't screw it in...lube it (I used mr sheen) and then tap it in with something hard enough and it will go in a treat.

Rods seem fine on mine but the links are badly molded. Apparently they changed them to be slop free but the rods now don't go in straight. They work fine and I'm sticking with them but they should be (an you should expect them to be) straight. This issue seems to be with the 3rd batch only.

The links sold separately are HN7058 and production F811s are fine. But the newer one HN7058-1 (which include the elevator link) may be from the same batch as the 'off center' ones. So I'm waiting for them to come in to check them.

Another Align QC issue which we have to pick up the pieces for.

Apart from the links...the rest is beautiful. Easier to build than any of the other models IMHO. Can't wait to fly it

                Good luck with your build

Oh yeh Symon is right put tank in BEFORE assembling frames unlike the 600N it wont slide in.

                  Symon

How much thread in mm have you got left exposed on the centre swash to mixing arm links and the bellcrank to rear swash links.

On mine the plastic links are not screwed on very much it seems.

I am nipping round Matt Lodges somewhen soon so i can compare his to mine, heli i mean

                  Cheers for the part Nos

Linkage rod C has about 3.5-4mm showing (swash to mixing arms). It's more than any of the others which have about 1mm showing on average. On the elevator lever the link could probably accept a longer M3 bolt but I think it's fine.

3.5-4mm is a fair bit but I can't remember how much is therefore left in...as all links are done.

                        Mine have 4.17mm pretty much.

Same on the 2 rods from outer swash to bellcranks

This is all with swash level, and mixing arms level, bellcranks at correct angle so links cant be shortened to leave less thread exposed.

I followed the Finless video on this section of the build also

                        Will check it against Matts.

                        All done otherwise,awaiting Align muffler.

                        Cheers for checking

Congrats on the new 700 James..

Only tip I can give you other than what's been already mentioned is.......

Make sure you get the Metal Flybar Seesaw Holder the correct way round, I fit mine and it wasnt until Ade spotted in on a picture I posted that I knew it was wrong, Yes I was tired and "WAS" watching the Finless videos too..

Its very easy to get this wrong.

I had no problems with the carbon tube on the tail pushrod, it's so loose it rattles! When fitting the main shaft you have to fit a shim which rides on the top bearing, most have to use the thinnest shim and still struggle to get the jesus bolt through. Use a circular or half round file and smooth the inside diameter of the shim to remove burrs and leave a slight chamfer then loosen the main bearing block screws, fit the main shaft and then re-tighten the screws after.

A few people have had booms that fit with the tail left at a jaunty angle, I used a dremel to remove metal from one side of the slot in the front of the boom until it was all nicely upright.

I'd certainly go with fitting the tank before joining the sideframes and make sure you fit the clunk and stopper first too otherwise you have to try to fit it in the gap between the sideframes.

Mine ws from the second batch and I had no problem with the links being wonky, this seems to have hit the 3rd batch although it just looks naff, the links are on tight enough.

The build was actually pretty straight forward, about 8hrs build then just a few clicks of trim on the first flight and all good since, running 680mm blades its just like flying my 600N
