I'm only on 4MB and get a smooth playback, but I'm on cable so don't get any contention issues from other people on the same ADSL exchange.
That's the last time I do vid from someone else's camera, spent all day trying to compress that damn video yesterday and it's still crap. <goes off in a strop>

Ash: this is why I love the Mac it takes the video file and doesn't care what camera it came from

Your the one struggling with the HD source not meOriginally posted by Ashley Davis View Postit's not the camera that's the problem, it's the compression that HDD cameras put on their data. Soon as you try to compress it again for web delivery the arse falls out of the quality.
You sure it isn't that useless mac not able to handle HD video?

Hum...Originally posted by Ashley Davis View PostI think part of the choppy playback will be machines that don't have graphics cards that can handle the data throughput. It's a lot of data and if you haven't got a high spec machine it just won't play it nice.
Mac Pro here and there's no way a video like that would even begin to slow it down. It's something causing the stutter but its not computer spec thats for sure.
Found an over clocking tool for the Mac Pro from 2.66 cores to 3GHZ now
