    Hi Peter,
That seems a bit strange since a hotter engine is usually attributed to being lean and hence more powerful.
Are you sure that the carbsmart is setup correctly.
Specifically the lean and rich end-points haven't been swapped round have they?
You can test this by powering onthe carbsmart when the engine is cold the needle should be at the fully lean position. If you hold the 'set' button in then the needle should move to the fully rich position.
    Adrian.

With regards to the governor I bought the GV-1 whilst I was flying alone and didnt have the benefit of this forum or DMHC to shout NOOOOO!!!! It will do for now as I'm really only just getting into this but want to know that my heli is delivering max performance!! (even if i'm not giving it max beans!!)
I've got a spare align gov you can have for 25 notes, i was going to try to flog it at the fly in anyway.
I also have a set of 600mm vblade tst i will be getting shot of if anyone is interested, will bring them along also, and a load of trex nitro spares

Adrain you are only partly right about hotter and leaner. If it's too lean even by just a little bit the engine gets weaker pretty quickly. This may have been what was happening during the full power climbout. As it was acending the engine was getting hotter and started to bog.

Personally I'd unplug the smartcarb and tune the engine and see how it behaves - like REAL men used to do... <think northern accented pigeon fancier> You noobs need to grow some hairs on your chest.....

I know what your saying Adrian but I'm 100% positive its set up properly mate. There isnt really a noticable difference in general flight and aerobatics, but when I punch it out into a hard vertical climb I can here the engine get pulled down to almost nothing. 100 degrees on the CS seems better. Want to get to DMHC this week. Hopefully Richie and co will be there to possibly diagnose the problem - If there is one!!

Thanks for that James. I'll see how I get on this week and maybe have that off you.
