I tried that but where the nut would go on the pipe is curved. I suppose you could grind it flat. It wouldnt look very nice so the helicoil is a good option imo.

Lost a baffle in my Align muffler today, just noticed the engine sounded really rattly and rough and was a little down on power.

Have barely had a gallon through it (was being a bit optimistic saying 'gallons' above). At first I thought it was the OS Hyper's bearings after reading other threads, but when I took the pipe off to drop the engine noticed the rattle was just inside the pipe (didn't manage to hear it when shaking the heli at the field with the engine running so dismissed that).

I trust Align honour the warranty? ie I should be able to get a replacement from the shop easily? Great pipe though, still don't want to go back to my stubby old MP5

no i wont either i think compared to the align pipe the mp5 is just plain ugly

Two Align pipe failures in as many months does worry me though and Skylines going to think i'm scamming him if i bring yet another rattly baffled Align pipe back.

OH, i also had the Align metal fan shatter in two on a flight...i really have had bad luck so far.

My Align pipe baffles failed at the weekend. in fairness mine had done probably 15 gallons, but even so. Not that impressive really.

I have one of those horrible 'at any time' feeling each time i fly mine now. I kinda expect it now...shame coz its a nice pipe.
